In Year 6 maths this week, we've been focussing on shape: creating artwork with circles and compasses, producing shapes/pictures using our knowledge of coordinates, and finally, using our problem-solving skills to organise pentominoes into animal shapes (which looks much easier that it actually is!)

4O also enjoyed making their own forest art with natural materials and having a play in the park at the end of a hard day full of Roman activities.

4O had a brilliant day at Hardwick park yesterday, completing an archaeological dig, making Roman porridge and creating their own aqueducts.

Year 1 have started learning about time. Today we practised telling the time to o’clock. We had lots of fun and looking forward to moving onto half past.

The school council have been hard at work making posters featuring some adorable clean community ambassadors! Look out for them around school. They want to say a big thank you to everyone who sent pictures of their furry friends for them to use.

Children in 40 have been talking about World Ocean day. World Ocean Day is an international celebration observed annually on June 8. It highlights the critical role the oceans play in our lives, the threats they face, and the actions we can take to protect them. They designed posters to highlight threats to our oceans for example plastics.

On the afternoon, the children in 4D took part in some orienteering that conveniently ended up at the play park! The whole class were excellent all day, even when the bus was delayed!

4D also made Roman porridge and transported water using their very own aqueducts!

4D loved taking part in an archeological dig as part of their school trip to Hardwick Park.

Reception have been imagining what Busy Bee our positive mindset creature would say to encourage Runaway Rabbitt. They had some great ideas 💡 'Mistakes are good it means we are learning!' 'You can do it!' 'Believe in yourself!'.
