The future of medicine in the making✨🩺

Some of our aspiring medical students recently took part in a skills day at James Cook University Hospital, gaining a valuable insight into the world of medicine🔬

From interactive seminars to practical workshops led by local healthcare professionals, students developed key skills, explored career pathways, and experienced what life in the medical profession could look like🌟

They even appeared on BBC Look North yesterday evening, sharing reflections on an inspiring experience that has left them feeling even more confident, motivated and excited about pursuing careers in the medical profession 🩺

Powering IT Potential💻⚡

Last week, our second-year IT students went to Sunderland University for the first day of the Powering Potentials scheme🌟

Delivered by The Talent Foundry in partnership with Dell Technologies, this 4-day mentoring scheme is designed to equip young people across the Tees Valley with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to thrive in the fast-paced world of technology🚀

Throughout the day, students heard from industry professionals, took part in interactive workshops and explored a range of emerging technologies. It was a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insight into the tech sector, develop key employability skills and further ignite their passion for IT💡

With three more sessions still to come, our students are excited to continue building their knowledge, expanding their skillset and exploring future career opportunities in the tech industry!🚀✨

Applied Science in action 🌿🔬

Recently, our first year Applied Science students ventured to Hamsterly Forest for an exciting day of fieldwork and discovery🍃

As part of their coursework, students were collecting data for ecological sampling, analysing real-world data while exploring the natural environment and putting their classroom learning into practice🌳

From investigating ecosystems to enjoying the beautiful woodland surroundings, it was a fantastic day filled with learning, adventure, and plenty of sunshine☀️

Opportunities like this are just one of the many hands-on experiences that make studying Applied Science at QE so rewarding💜
