Spending time outdoors can play an important role in children’s wellbeing, learning, confidence and development.

However, busy routines, safety concerns and limited access to outdoor space can make it harder for families, schools and carers to prioritise time in nature.

Our latest guide shares simple, practical ideas to help children reconnect with the natural world, including:
• Noticing wildlife during everyday routines
• Taking familiar activities outside
• Creating mini adventures
• Growing plants or building nature at home
• Using technology to identify birdsong, insects and wildlife
• Supporting older children with independence and sensible risk-taking

With realistic ideas for all ages, the guide helps make outdoor time feel accessible, enjoyable and worthwhile.

Our first week of Holiday Club has been packed with fun as we've enjoyed a magical Mermaids & Under the Sea theme.

The children got creative with a variety of crafts, including mirror mermaids, suncatchers, stained glass window decorations, beach-themed bracelets, sequin seahorsses, beach plaques, and octopus characters.

We also made some delicious snacks throughout the week, including tomato and herb pasta, oyster shell biscuits, cupcakes, and fish finger sandwiches.

With the lovely weather, we've spent most of our time outdoors. The tennis net, chalks, and the Mr Wibble Wobble game were all big favourites with the children.

Next week, we're looking forward to our Sporty theme week, with lots of exciting team games and activities planned.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Wow, what an emotional day we've had saying goodbye to our wonderful Year 6s! It has been an absolute privilege to watch each and every one of you grow into such amazing young people. We are going to miss you all so much and wish you every success and happiness as you begin your next adventure.

This week at club, we've had lots of fun making ice creams, butterflies and strawberries, as well as enjoying some delicious fresh strawberries to taste! We also made the most of the lovely weather by spending plenty of time outdoors, playing football, tennis and skipping together.

Next week marks the start of our fun filled Holiday Club! Our theme is Beach, Mermaids and Under the Sea, and we can't wait for all the exciting activities we have planned. If your child is booked in, please remember to send them with:
☀️A healthy, nut-free packed lunch
☀️Sun cream already applied (and a bottle, which we can help reapply)
☀️A sun hat
If you're not joining us over the summer, we hope you all have a fantastic holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back in September.

Finally, we would like to say a huge thank you for all of the thoughtful gifts and lovely cards we have received.

Have a wonderful weekend, and we hope everyone enjoys a wonderful summer.

Gaming is a huge part of many young people's lives, but some online features can blur the line between gaming and gambling in ways that aren't always obvious.

Our latest guide explains what skin betting is, why it's becoming more common, and how parents, carers and educators can help children stay safe online.

The guide covers:

• What skin betting is and how it works
• Why virtual in-game items can have real-world value
• The risks of unregulated third-party platforms
• Social pressure and influencer promotion
• Warning signs to look out for
• Practical steps to reduce the risks through conversations and parental controls

By understanding how skin betting works, trusted adults can spot potential risks early and help young people make safer choices online.

This week in club, we've thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous weather! We've spent lots of time outdoors in the shady areas, playing games, tennis and football while making the most of the sunshine.

Our crafts this week have been inspired by Wimbledon and football. The children created wooden football shirt decorations, tissue paper tennis balls and football characters. For our Friday baking activity, we decorated tennis themed biscuits, which everyone enjoyed.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing you next week for the final week of the school year!
