West Park Out of School Club West Park Out of School Club provides day care for children aged 3 to 11 years. We also operate a holiday club.

Opening hours for this are 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday.

🍂 Autumn has arrived in club! 🍂

We’ve been celebrating the start of autumn this week with lots of lovely seasonal crafts. We made strip pumpkin pictures, decorated wooden animals, created some wonderful leaf crowns and crafted some adorable felt hedgehogs.

Our baking craft has also embraced the autumn theme, with a delicious apple and berry crumble.

This week in club we have based our crafts on recycling, as it’s Recycle Week. The children have created crafts out of recycled egg box’s, creating caterpillars and planting seeds. We have learnt what we can recycle and created beautiful flowers out of recycled paper.

The children have also enjoyed playing outside whilst the weather has still been kind to us, the usual football, tennis was enjoyed and our new game of magnetic darts was a hit.

Tonight the children enjoyed making jam tarts.

Next week our crafts are all based around autumn. 🍂

We have had a really good full week back to school with a few new faces who have settled in very well.

We refreshed a couple of our tubs outside, gardening is always popular with the children and collected some of the ripe tomatoes which we will use in cooking.

The crafts this week have been summer themed book marks which they have coloured in, have painted some beautiful sunflowers to remind us of the summer. They also made a pair of friendship characters telling their friend about themselves and then cutting them in half giving one to their friend and keeping the other one themselves.

Cooking as I said involved our lovely home grown tomatoes chopped up with other things and used as pizza topping, obviously very popular with the children and good to eat something they have grown themselves.

We started the week with two fun Holiday Club days, enjoying lots of creative activities including lolly stick aeroplanes, hot air balloons, pineapples and doughnuts! We also enjoyed making shortbread biscuits and a delicious tomato and cheese pasta bake.

It was lovely to welcome everyone back on Thursday and hear all about their summer adventures!

We’ve also been busy decorating wooden dogs and starting our new ‘All About Us’ display.

🏴‍☠️ Week 6 at Holiday Club 🏴‍☠️
This week, our theme has been All Things Pirate, and the children have had an amazing time getting into the spirit of adventure!

They’ve enjoyed making lots of fantastic pirate-themed creations, including pirate hooks, treasure maps, wooden swords, their own pirate flags, messages in bottles and pirate chests, along with plenty more creative activities.

Our cooking activities included, with the children making fruit flan, sausage rolls, chocolate orange cake, cheesy muffins and maids of honour. There have certainly been some tasty treats to enjoy!

We’ve also had lots of fun dressing up as pirates and using inflatable swords and eye patches for some swashbuckling adventures.

Next week brings our final two days of Holiday Club before we return to school on Thursday. We’d like to wish all our families a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend and look forward to seeing everyone for our final couple of days! 💛

Week 5 at Holiday Club
What a fantastic week we have had at Holiday Club! This week, we enjoyed a different theme every day, with lots of fun, creativity and activities for everyone to get involved in.

Monday -Harry Potter Day
We stepped into the magical world of Harry Potter, making our very own wands, lightning bolt bookmarks and adorable Hedwig owls.

Tuesday – K-Pop Day
Our much-anticipated K-Pop crafts were a big hit! The children got creative making Derpy necklaces, microphones and character bracelets.

Wednesday – Detective Day
Our budding detectives made their own ID card lanyards, code breakers and magnifying glasses before getting ready to solve some mysteries.

Thursday – Colour Day
We filled the day with colour and creativity. The children used a salad spinner to create colourful artwork, along with mosaic masterpieces and scratch art pictures.

Of course, we have also enjoyed plenty of outdoor play throughout the week. Building dens, playing tennis and using our outdoor domino set have all been firm favourites.

We will see you all next week for our last full week of the summer holidays. Our final theme is All Things Pirate, so get ready for plenty of swashbuckling fun!
