Day 12 Celebrate the little wins.
The tiny choices, the quiet improvements, the “I nearly didn’t, but I did anyway” moments.
They’re the steps that build momentum, confidence and real change.
Don’t wait for the big finish — applaud yourself for every small move forward.
That’s where the magic actually happens.

Day 11 community. During Covid times peoples mental health plummeted.
Community is one of the strongest predictors of longevity because humans are built to connect. When we spend time with others—whether that’s in an exercise group, a class, or just regular chats—our stress levels drop, our mood lifts, and we’re more motivated to look after ourselves. Being part of a community keeps us accountable, brings purpose to our days, and gives us support during tough times. It strengthens the mind, the body, and the heart—and those social bonds are just as important for living longer as good nutrition, exercise, and sleep
Find something you like doing and join people you like being with.

To my wonderful Breathe Easy group,
I just want to say a huge thank you for another year together. As we head into Christmas, I’m feeling especially grateful for every single one of you. Your strength, your humour, and the way you support each other make our group something truly special.
It’s a privilege to spend this time with you each week, and I appreciate you more than you know. Wishing you all a warm, peaceful and happy Christmas — here’s to another year of breathing better, moving better, and feeling better together.
Big Christmas love,
Vic x

Day 10 Movement or natural movement.
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is the total amount of energy your body uses in a day just to keep you alive and moving. It includes everything from basic functions like breathing, digesting food, and maintaining your body temperature, to the natural movement you do throughout the day—walking, standing, fidgeting, training, working, even blinking. Understanding your TDEE is important because it helps you know how much energy you actually burn, which guides how much you need to eat to fuel your body properly. When you match your intake to your TDEE, you support better energy levels, healthier weight management, improved performance, and a more balanced metabolism.

Day 9 Balance isn’t just about standing on one leg in a yoga class; it’s about staying strong, confident, and independent as we get older. When we don’t work on our balance, we naturally lose it. The body gets weaker, reaction times slow down, and suddenly simple things like stepping off a curb, climbing the stairs, or reaching for something high become risky.
But the good news? Balance is absolutely trainable.
A few minutes a day of standing on one leg, heel-to-toe walking, strengthening your glutes and core, and moving your body in different directions can massively improve your stability. It keeps your joints strong, your posture better, and your mind more connected to your body.
Working on your balance is one of the best “fall-prevention tools” you’ll ever invest in — and it gives you confidence in everyday life.
Don’t wait until you notice you’re wobbling… start now. A stable body is a strong body.

Day 8 mindfulness
Mindfulness matters now more than ever. In a world where we’re constantly scrolling, checking, posting and comparing, we’ve lost the natural moments of downtime our minds desperately need. When we’re distracted, even simple things like eating, walking, or having a conversation become rushed and disconnected. Practising mindfulness—whether it’s putting your phone down while you eat, taking a few slow breaths before you start a task, or actually noticing what’s around you—helps reset the nervous system, improve digestion, boost focus and bring you back into your own life instead of everyone else’s highlight reel. Slow down, be present, and give your mind the space it rarely gets in the modern world.

Day 7 flexibility
Flexibility is one of the biggest gifts you can give your body. Whether it’s yoga, Pilates, or simple daily stretching, improving your flexibility keeps your joints healthy, your posture strong, and your body moving the way it’s meant to. It reduces stiffness, lowers injury risk, eases those everyday aches, and helps you feel lighter and more mobile. Yoga helps calm the nervous system while lengthening tight muscles, Pilates builds strong, supportive core stability, and stretching keeps everything moving freely. A few minutes a day genuinely does make a difference.
Just think when you’ve been sat at your desk give your body a stretch.

Day 6
Cardiovascular training is one of the most powerful things you can do for your heart health — and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Even a simple 30-minute walk can strengthen your heart muscle, improve circulation, lower blood pressure, and support healthier cholesterol levels. It also helps regulate blood sugar, boost mood, and increase overall energy. The truth is, the average person doesn’t walk nearly enough, often spending most of the day sitting. Just adding a daily walk or gentle cardio session can dramatically improve long-term heart health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Small, consistent steps genuinely make a big difference.

Strength training I often called the fountain of youth because it keeps the body strong, mobile, and resilient as we age. It helps maintain muscle mass, supports healthy bones, boosts metabolism, and improves balance—key factors in staying active and independent for longer. Beyond the physical benefits, lifting weights also sharpens the mind, boosts confidence, and enhances overall wellbeing. It’s not about lifting heavy for vanity; it’s about giving your future self the strength, vitality, and energy to keep doing the things you love you don’t have to have fancy weights or go to a amazing gym body weight exercise help too!
