✨Dowdales School Open Evening - Wednesday 30th September ✨

We cannot wait to welcome Year 5 and 6 children and their families to our Open Evening on Wednesday 30th September!

Come along, have a look around, meet our fantastic staff and students and discover everything Dowdales has to offer. Each subject department will have fun activities and exciting things to try, you can sample some of the delicious food in our dining hall and even take part in sport in our fantastic Sports Hall!

It is the perfect opportunity to explore Dowdales, discover what makes our school special and get a real feel for life as part of Team Dowdales.

Welcome back, Team Dowdales! It has been wonderful to see our students return and our school community come together once again.

A very warm welcome to our new Year 7 students as you take your first steps on your Dowdales School journey. There is so much ahead of you and I hope you embrace every opportunity, challenge and new experience that comes your way.

✨ A huge thank you to Unite's Barrow Manual Branch! ✨

We are incredibly grateful to Unite Barrow Manual Branch for their generous donation to our Design Technology department.

Thanks to their support, we have been able to purchase fantastic new equipment and resources, giving our students access to even more exciting, industry-relevant learning opportunities.

These new resources will benefit students across Key Stage 3, as well as our GCSE Engineering and Design Technology classes, helping them to develop practical skills, creativity and confidence for the future.

Thank you once again for investing in the future of our young people. Your generosity will make a real difference for many years to come.

This term, our Food Technology students had the opportunity to work with a fantastic donation of wild Atlantic salmon, helping them develop a range of practical cookery skills while creating delicious dishes.

A huge thank you to Wild Alaska Seafood, Fish Heroes -Food Teacher's Centre UK, Fishmongers Company, and DFDS for their generous donation of wild Atlantic salmon. Their support enables our students to enjoy valuable hands-on learning experiences that inspire confidence and creativity in the kitchen.
