Looking for a little extra support to help your child grow in confidence? 💚

Our Monday After-School Club has just ONE space remaining!

🎒 Pick-up from Donibristle Primary at 3pm, or parent drop-off at 3.20pm for children outwith the catchment.

✨ Each session includes:
📚 Fun, interactive literacy and numeracy tasks
💚 Wellbeing and confidence-building activities
🍎 A snack and time to recharge
🏡 A safe, nurturing space where children can learn, grow and be themselves.

At Learn and Grow, we meet children where they are, helping them build confidence and develop a positive attitude towards learning.

From Christmassy literacy activities to crafty creations, we’ll be exploring all things Christmas through fun, engaging and hands-on learning. 🎄✂️📚

🎁 Two workshops available – Friday 13th November!

🕘 Morning session: 9am–12pm (2 spaces left)
🕐 Afternoon session: 1pm–4pm (5 spaces left)

🤟 That’s a wrap on my first BSL taster sessions!

My wee class of grown-ups have been brilliant. They’ve been so keen to keep learning that I’m delighted to be running a second block! 🥰

It’s been lovely seeing everyone grow in confidence and become more comfortable using BSL. Helping people discover a new way to communicate is exactly why I love what I do.

👩‍🏫Teachers & educators
🤩 Individuals wanting to learn a new skill

The aim is to make learning BSL simple, accessible and enjoyable, whether you’re starting from scratch or wanting to build your confidence.

I’m also very lucky to have 7 wonderful families who will be trialling the resources with me. Their feedback will help make sure they’re practical, useful and exactly what people need. ❤️

As this term comes to a close, I’m feeling so grateful that I get to spend my days with these amazing children. 💚

Every one of them walks through my door excited about what our session will bring. Before we even leave the school gates, I’m hearing, “What are our jobs today?”, not because learning feels like a chore, but because they’re genuinely excited to learn! 🥰

At club, we mix things up with worksheets, active learning, partner work and group activities; all designed to build confidence and help children feel successful in different aspects of their learning.

This term, our focus has included storytelling, times tables and taking turns; developing skills, confidence and independence along the way.

Watching that confidence grow is one of the best parts of my job. 💚

We’ve explored times tables in lots of different ways, making learning about grouping, multiplication and number patterns fun, practical and engaging.

✏️ From ideas to words… and now onto reading! 📚

This term has been all about removing barriers to writing and giving children the freedom to bring their wonderful ideas to life. ✨

Reading has been a huge part of that — inspiring ideas, developing vocabulary, sentence structure and sequencing.

This week we’ve explored a range of new and unfamiliar texts, sparking curiosity, wonder and lots of imagination! 📖💭

Next term, our focus shifts to READING, breaking down barriers and helping every learner discover the joy, confidence and magic of books. ❤️📚

❤️Feeling very proud and a little bit emotional seeing my story shared.

I feel so privileged that Angela Practice Makes Progress with Angela Verity has taken the time to share the story of how my wee business, Learn and Grow Homework Club, came to life.

Taking that first step into tutoring was a huge leap for me. I had the idea, the experience and the passion, but turning it into an actual business felt like a completely different thing!

With Angela’s support and guidance, I took the plunge and I honestly haven’t looked back. 🌱

So, to any teachers sitting wondering “Could I really do this?” — I’d say believe in yourself and give it a go!

And if you don’t know where to start, speak to Angela. She’ll guide you through the process and help you turn that little idea in your head into something real.

Taking that leap changed so much for me. I’m so glad I did it. 🥰
