Our topic for July was transport and our country was Morocco. For cookery we made special Morroccan cookies called Gazelles Ankles, and created our own plane trip. The trip this month was to Tintern Station and Goytre wharf to see the trains and boats. August was all about lakes and mountains and our country was Scotland. In cookery we attempted to make Tattie scones but they didn't quite go plan and in music we had a go with bagpipes. Our book was We're Going On a Bear Hunt so we had our own around the garden. As always we practised hard on our colours, numbers and letters and did lots of other crafts and activities. Its also been a week of mixed emotions, saying goodbye to our little school leavers with more initials being carved 🥹

Our topics this month were Money and the Seaside and our country of the month was Hawaii (technically a state I know, but worth a whole month to itself!) We made Hawaiian pizzas and practiced hula dancing while playing the Ukulele. With the heatwave we had lots of water play in the shaded parts of the garden including ice rescue and a paddling pool, and rock pools in the tuff trays as it was too hot to go on our trip to the beach 😔. The mud kitchen was stocked with sponges, shaving foam and sprinkles, to make cakes and donuts. We planted mini gardens and did a carpentry project, painted our own money boxes and made some sea creatures. We also took part in the Barnardo's Big Toddle week and raised over £500!!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the family, friends, parents and grandparents who shared, donated and supported us for The Big Toddle 2026! We raised a whopping £430 plus an extra £107.50 in gift aid. We are are always so overwhelmed and extremely grateful that even as such a small setting we get the opportunity to give back to the community 🙏 and lastly we are so proud of all of our Little Bright Sparks who put in a fantastic effort last week, you all smashed it 🦁❤️
