Happy Summer Solstice ☀️
Today marks the longest day of the year and a lovely reminder to pause and appreciate the light, both around us and within us.
Last night I went along to a local Summer Solstice gathering it was lovely to be out in nature, surrounded by so many people coming together to celebrate the season. There was a real sense of community, connection, and the energy from everyone was just lovely. 😊
As the wheel of the seasons turns once again, today feels like a good opportunity to reflect on how far we've come, appreciate the present moment, and look ahead with hope and gratitude.

On 21st June, we welcome the longest day of the year, when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky and the light lingers just a little longer.
For our ancestors, this was a sacred time — a moment to honour the sun, celebrate the abundance of nature and feel connected to something greater than themselves. They lived in tune with the seasons, watching the cycles of the Earth unfold year after year. The Solstice was a reminder of the power of light, the beauty of growth and the deep connection between people, nature and the world around them.
The Solstice is a gentle reminder to pause and take stock. To notice what has grown, what is flourishing and what you'd like to nurture in the months ahead.

I always like using a New Moon as a little reminder to pause and check in with myself.
It's a chance to clear some mental clutter, think about what's working (and what isn't), and get intentional about where I want to put my energy next.
This feels like a good time for fresh ideas, honest conversations, and being open to opportunities that might show up in unexpected ways.

Life feels lighter when we stop trying to hold everything together.
So much of our stress comes from wishing things were different than they are. We want people to behave differently. We want circumstances to change. We want the uncertainty to disappear. We want life to follow the plan we've created in our minds.
But the weather will still change. Traffic will still build up. People will still make choices we don't understand. The world will continue to bring challenges, surprises, and moments that test us.
And when our peace depends on everything outside of us lining up perfectly, we're left on an emotional rollercoaster, constantly waiting for life to cooperate before we can feel okay.
The irony is that the harder we try to control what we can't control, the more powerless we often feel.
Acceptance isn't giving up. It isn't pretending difficult things aren't happening. It isn't ignoring the very real struggles that many people are facing right now.
It's simply recognising where our energy is best spent.
There is wisdom in knowing the difference between what needs our action and what needs our surrender.
When we stop fighting every reality we cannot change, we create space for something powerful: choice.
We may not always choose what happens around us, but we can choose how we meet it. We can choose our perspective, our next step, our values, our response.
And in that space, we often find a deeper sense of calm, resilience, and freedom.
Life isn't always easy. Some situations deserve our grief, our anger, and our action. But carrying the weight of trying to control everything only makes the journey heavier.

One thing I think we often forget about healing is that it isn't just about doing the work.
It's not just the therapy sessions, the journaling, the hard conversations, the courses, the books...whatever it is for you....
It's also about giving yourself time afterwards.
Time to let things settle.
Time to sit with what you've learned.
Time to allow your mind, body and nervous system to catch up with the changes you're making. 💙
So many of us move straight from one thing to the next. We want to feel better now. We want proof that all the effort is working. We expect healing to be a quick before-and-after transformation.
But real healing doesn't usually work like that.
Growth needs integration. 💜
Sometimes the most important part of the process looks like doing very little at all. It can look like resting, slowing down, taking a walk, having a quiet day, or simply giving yourself permission not to fix anything for a while.
That pause isn't wasted time. ❤️
It's where the lessons land. It's where change takes root. It's where healing begins to become part of who you are, rather than just something you're working on.
If things feel slow right now, it doesn't necessarily mean nothing is happening. Maybe you're integrating 😊

Our bodies often try to tell us something long before we're ready to listen. We get so used to pushing through, carrying on and keeping all the plates spinning that we forget it's okay to stop for a while.
And while sometimes all we need is a few minutes to reset, other times it takes a little longer. In my case, its taken a few months — and that's okay too ! 😄
For me, taking a step back was necessary. Its given me the time and space to rest, heal and just be, without feeling like I always had to be doing something. I needed to unplug a bit from life. What I didn't realise was just how much my mind and soul needed that space too.
If you're feeling tired, overwhelmed or like you're running on empty, it's okay to unplug for a wee while. It's okay to say no, to slow down, to rest and to put yourself first.
The people and things that matter will still be there.
Its ok to give yourself permission to do less. 😊 🤍

You can have a kind heart and still have boundaries.
Being caring, supportive, and compassionate doesn't mean giving everyone unlimited access to your time, energy, or personal life. Sometimes people mistake kindness for an invitation to become overly involved, offer unwanted opinions, or expect more than you're comfortable giving.
Healthy boundaries aren't about being rude or unkind. They're about respecting yourself enough to protect your peace. It's okay to say no. It's okay to step back. It's okay to keep certain parts of your life private.
Not everyone will understand your boundaries, and some may not like them. That's okay too. Boundaries are not meant to control other people's feelings—they're meant to protect your wellbeing.
You don't stop being a good person when you choose yourself. In fact, honoring your own needs allows you to show up for others from a place of strength rather than exhaustion.
Kindness and boundaries can exist together. One does not cancel out the other. ❤️
