NCL Sound Production

Congratulations are due to HND Sound Production student, producer and DJ John Langlands, after his remix was released as part of the Dohnavùr remix competition organised by Scottish electronic label Werra Foxma Records.

Described as having a “real sun-coming-up vibe with a huge Balearic breakdown”, John’s track was one of 11 successful acts picked for the compilation that was released as part of the Werra Foxma Sub Club collection.

John said, “Using my production skills that I’ve learned over the last few years in college gave me the confidence and belief to submit an entry and let an industry professional listen to my remix. When I found out I had made the cut, and it was released as part of the remix series I was ecstatic. I would like to thank Frazer at Werra Foxma Records for giving me the opportunity & confidence to push on in my production career.”

Big thanks to Frazer from Werra Foxma Records for taking time out of his busy schedule to pass on his industry wisdom to our HN Sound Production students. So many nuggets of information for the students to takeaway - Thanks Frazer!

Really cool project this week with some HND students. Massive live to multitrack session with the guys from Outside The Original giving us some Prog Rock classics.. 24 channels all in use on the SSL console, 4 live rooms all linked together with load of guitar and bass re-amping and not an overdub to be found.

The HND"s Music Production class involved them incorporating 80's themed production techniques for a song creation exercise. TBH it was really just an excuse to break out the Juno 😍...
