Your child doesn't need you to 'fix' their feelings . They need you to be the steady presence, the safe space . The person who can help the big feelings move through their bodies and bring safety back.
But you can only be a steady presence if you are in a regulated place yourself, and I know how hard it can be to stay calm and present when your child is having big explosive feelings.
That's why I created A Calmer Summer Starts With You . An online workshop where I share simple tools to help you be the steady presence your child needs in the tricky moments and how you can navigate the big feelings with confidence and ease .

Honestly, I used to dread the summer holidays.
It felt like it was just one meltdown after the other. I felt as if I was constantly walking on eggshells. Worried that the next thing I did or said would start another spiral of big explosive feelings.
Now , I'm genuinely excited about them and can't wait to spend the summer together with my boys. Not because there won't be any big feelings (there kids, of course there will be), but what's changed is me :
I now understand what's happening in their brains and bodies when they have big feelings
I know how to support myself with simple tools when the big feelings come to visit.
I have simple steps I follow to support my child through their big emotions with connection and presence.
These are all things I will be sharing with you in my online workshop, "A Calmer Summer Starts With You." The link is in my bio to book your space. A replay will be sent to everyone who signs up, so no worries if you can't make it live.

That's a wrap for this block of The Feelings Club as we enter into our summer break and what a fun session it was.
This week was all about celebrating how amazing and special we all are. We spoke about the things we are good at and enjoyed a lovely all about how we shine our light brightest when we just be ourselves.
We also shared some affirmations we can use to help us build that inner positive voice . We enjoyed a lovely relaxing meditation, and the dance ribbons made an appearance again for our mindful movement and listening.
We finished off by creating our celebration poppers to take home . We can use these with our affirmations or when we are celebrating all the amazing things that make us special.
Thank you to everyone who joined me for his block. As always, it makes my heart so happy that I get to share this work with you all 💕
If you would like to be added to the waitlist for the next block, send me a message. Dates will be announced soon.

Lately, the small things have been everything.
Life can be full in as a mum, but taking time to nurture ourselves is so important . It's the small moments throughout the day that can make all the difference to how we feel and show up as mums .
Some of the things I have been doing lately to support myself are:
✨️taking a few moments to check in with myself to see how I am feeling and what I need.
✨️ being more mindful when completing tasks
✨️ gratitude and finding the little moments of joy in my day
If this resonates, then check out my up and coming online workshop 'a calmer summer starts with you'. Where I will share simple and actionable tools to help you feel supported and regulated this summer.

How do you want this summer to feel?
Do you eat it to feel calmer, joyful.
Do you want to feel more present with your kids?
Do you want to feel more regulated to be able to navigate the ups and downs of the holidays ?
If you answered yes to any of those, then you need my 'calmer summer starts with you' online workshop. And don't worry, there is a replay if you can't make it live.
In this workshop, I'll share with you simple tools you can use to help support you and your child through the summer holidays, including how to navigate the big feelings.

This week at The Feelings Club, it was all about happiness.
We read a lovely story 'where happiness begins' and spoke about how our bodies feel when happiness comes to visit.
The dance ribbons were a big hit as the children moved their bodies in a way that brought them happiness.
We invited in our safe and happy place during our meditation with the chimes.
Then, for our craft, we created our own happiness camera of all the things, people, and places that make our hearts happy. We spoke about the importance of 'capturing the joy'in our everyday life, and the children shared what makes their heart happy 💛.
It was such a beautiful session.
The body sensation and feelings cards are available in The Feelings Club At Home Kit (link is in my bio).
They are a great way of helping your child to explore how their body feels when different feelings come to visit.

The first thing I do when my kids have big feelings is take a few mins to regulate myself.
Why? Because if I'm dysregulated, I can not meet my child where they are at and help them process their big feelings. I just end up getting caught up in the big feelings with them, adding fuel to the fire.
It's such an important step that's often missed when talking about navigating big feelings.
So next time your little one is having big feelings instead of getting caught up in them , try and do a quick regulation tool. Try breathing in for 4 and out for 6 (repeat 3-5 times). This signals safety to your body, helping it regulate.
I'll be sharing lots more tools like this in my masterclass ' A Calm Summer Starts With You'. An online workshop to help parents navigate their child's big feelings with calm and confidence.
Recording available if you can't make it live.

The Feelings Club
This week, we were talking about mistakes and how when we are learning new things, it can feel tricky at first.
We enjoyed a lovely story massage all about making mistakes .
We relaxed with a lovely meditation all about noticing which feeling was visiting us and how it felt in our body.
For our craft this week, we decorated our own plant pots and planted some sunflower seeds. The children took these home as a visual reminder that just like the sunflower, they are learning and growing too.
Our motto for today's sessions was "It's OK to make mistakes. Mistakes are how I learn and grow. "
