As part of Volunteers' Week, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our incredible Board of Trustees.

Our Trustees generously volunteer their time, expertise and experience to help guide the strategic direction of Craighalbert, ensure strong governance, and support us in delivering the very best outcomes for the children, young people and families we support.

While much of their work takes place behind the scenes, their commitment, leadership and dedication play a vital role.

We are fortunate to have a Board that is passionate about our mission, ambitious for the children and young people we support, and committed to helping Craighalbert continue to grow and thrive.

Thank you to each and every one of our Trustees for the difference you make.

It is always wonderful to see how expressive our young people can be when given the opportunity to explore art in ways that work for them.

Rowan Room enjoyed getting creative and, as you can see, weren't afraid to get a little messy along the way! From using sponges and textured balls to painting with their hands, the young people explored different techniques to create unique pieces of artwork while making choices about colours, textures and materials.

At Craighalbert, we recognise that every child communicates and expresses themselves differently. By providing the right support, adaptations and opportunities, our young people can participate, explore their creativity and achieve fantastic outcomes.

We are incredibly proud of the creativity, individuality and achievement shown in each piece of artwork.

A huge thank you to all the families who joined us for the recent Coffee & Chat with the CEO session, organised by the Craighalbert Parent Partnership.

It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers come along for an informal opportunity to meet with our CEO, Heather Gray, learn more about Craighalbert, and share their thoughts, experiences and ideas.

These conversations are incredibly valuable, helping us to strengthen our partnership with families and ensure that the voices of those we support continue to shape our work.

The session provided a relaxed and welcoming space for discussion, connection and collaboration, and we are grateful to everyone who took the time to attend and contribute.

Thank you to the Parent Partnership for organising such a positive and successful event. We look forward to more opportunities to come together and continue these important conversations.

This session may be of interest to parents wanting to know more about your child's rights and how the UNCRC can support your family.

Have you heard the term ‘UNCRC’ and wonder what it all means? Maybe your children are part of a Rights Respecting School and you feel you should know more about this? Do you feel confident you’d know what to do if your child’s rights were not being met?

Join Parenting Across Scotland and Together (Scottish Alliance for Children's Rights) on Wednesday 3 June for this special free webinar for parents and carers, designed to help you understand children’s rights, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in Scotland and how the UNCRC can support your family.

No previous knowledge is required. We’re here to help demystify children’s rights and build your confidence in talking about them.

We were delighted to be an exhibitor at this year’s Children in Scotland's annual conference.

Over the two days, it was a great opportunity to connect with both new and familiar faces, share more about the work we do at Craighalbert, and network with colleagues from across the sector.

We also enjoyed hearing from the new Minister for Children, Young People of Scotland & The Promise, MSP Siobhian Brown as one of the keynote speakers.

Thank you to Children in Scotland for organising another fantastic event.

We were delighted to hear from the mum of a former Craighalbert young person, Jake, who shared this article about his achievement.

Jake has mastered photography and has now published his own book. We are so proud of what he has achieved.

It is always great to hear from young people who previously attended Craighalbert and to celebrate their successes.

Aberdeenshire's Jake Smith, 21, says he just wants to make people smile. Read more: https://ebx.sh/mT7uEO
