Heading closer to the Easter break after a really fun few weeks of lessons.

We’ve been working on songs everyone actually wants to play, getting into guitar maintenance stuff, and even turned the rehearsal space into a bit of a recording studio so students can mess around and get creative with what they’re learning.

Such a good way to finish the first part of the year!

Big shoutout to my student Jacob for passing his Grade 4 guitar exam 👏 Properly well deserved — smashed it.

After next week we’ll have a break from lessons for the Easter break!

Over the last few weeks I’ve been busy! 🎸

I’ve been:

• Teaching students how to properly maintain their guitars
• Preparing for Grade 4 guitar exams
• Supporting students with their National 4/5 music theory school work
• Learning new techniques and putting them into practice with challenging new songs

I’m happy with all the hard work and progress everyone is making — keep it up!

A well-maintained guitar isn’t just about how it looks—it’s about sound and playability.

Regular string changes, proper cleaning, and basic setups keep your guitar in tune, comfortable to play and sounding its best.

When your guitar feels good, practice becomes easier and more enjoyable - helping you improve faster.

This is why I offer optional sessions on cleaning and restringing your guitar as part of my lessons.

It’s been a while since I last posted here — time seems to disappear when guitars and lessons take over! That said, I’m going to be using this page much more regularly from now on.

I’ll be sharing updates from lessons, practice ideas, useful tips, things I’m working on, and the occasional bit of guitar-related content that might be helpful or interesting. It’s also a good place for general updates and reminders.

This week we have been:

- Supporting players who are new to guitar
- Learning the basics of how to construct a guitar solo
- Supporting students with their Higher compositions
- Working towards completing Grade 4 guitar

Hi everyone, hope you’re all keeping safe and well.

I have some exciting and welcoming news...

From the 26th of April onwards, I’ll be starting to take bookings for face to face lessons again 🥳

These lessons will be in both Cumbernauld at Unit 55 and in Bonnybridge at The Bunker. I’ll also be continuing home lessons if it suits anyone better.

Can’t wait to see you all in real life and not over zoom!

The bunker has been my main base for the last 4 years and is a great rehearsal space. It’s a shame to hear how the pandemic has negatively affected business like this.
