🎃 Halloween Safety Talk 🎃

A big thank you to the PSNI for visiting our school today and speaking with all our children about staying safe as Halloween approaches.

The children learned some really important safety messages, including how to keep safe as the darker nights approach, being aware of their surroundings, and staying safe around fireworks and other Halloween activities. 👻

🍟 McDonald's Maths 🍟
P6 turned into McDonald’s customers today as we put our money skills to the test! Using our very own McDonald’s menus, we worked within budgets, calculated the cost of our orders and worked out how much change we would receive. The children used their addition, subtraction and problem solving skills to tackle real life maths challenges. Lots of fantastic mathematical thinking and some very hungry pupils by the end! 🍔💰

🔬🚢 STEM Fun in P7!
On Tuesday, the Ulster-Scots Society visited P7 for a fantastic morning of STEM learning. The children learned about famous Ulster-Scots innovators, particularly Tom Andrews, the Belfast-born naval architect who worked on the design of the Titanic. They explored the science behind floating and sinking, forces, buoyancy, and discovered more about how the Titanic sank. A great morning of science enquiry, discovery and hands-on learning! 🚢🔬

And if you have any loose change, it would be very greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps! 💰

A huge thank you to our wonderful children for giving up their time to support such a fantastic cause. ❤️
