📣 Support available for families as new school year begins

The EA is reminding parents and carers that help and information is available as schools across Northern Ireland prepare to welcome pupils back for the new academic year.

A number of dedicated helplines are in place and further information and details of support are available through the EA website and social media channels. This covers a range of areas, including special educational needs (SEN), school transport, free school meals, uniform grants and admissions.

It has been a short but busy week at school for P3 this week. The pupils have enjoyed completing some practical measuring activities, lots of art and then the amazing sponsored Go, Go, Go today! We were delighted to be the winning KS1 class and can’t wait for our party thanks to the PTA!

A huge thank you to Twelfth Milestone Spar for choosing Loanends PTA as one of their selected charities. Loanends PTA is incredibly grateful to Colin and the team for their consideration and time, providing donations to the vital work that goes on within the primary school community.

A special thank you as well for hosting the Easter colouring competition - it brought so much fun and excitement for the children and was a lovely way to bring the community together.

We are so fortunate to have a local shop that really does have everything and continues to support the local community!

🏐 Loanends PS Netball Club at the Crumlin Tournament 🏐
Our P5, P6 and P7 Netball Club girls recently attended the netball tournament at Crumlin Leisure Centre, organised by Mrs Lovett.
The tournament provided a fantastic opportunity for the girls to experience competitive netball on a full-size court with full-height netball posts. Throughout the day, the players developed their understanding of the rules of the game, improved their teamwork skills and enjoyed meeting and playing alongside girls from a variety of other schools.
Our P7 team enjoyed a particularly successful afternoon, displaying excellent passing, movement and determination in both of their matches:
🏐 Loanends PS 6 – 3 St Aloysius 🏐 Loanends PS 3 – 0 St Joseph’s
The girls represented Loanends exceptionally well, demonstrating great sportsmanship, enthusiasm and resilience throughout the tournament. We are very proud of their efforts and the progress they continue to make in netball.
A sincere thank you to Mrs Lovett for organising such an enjoyable and well-run event and to all the staff and supporters who helped make the day a success. Well done, girls! 👏💙🏐
