Sanderstead Park Nursery

These preschool photos showcase a fun activity where children matched letter sounds with corresponding sea shell pictures. It supported their phonics learning by connecting sounds to visual imagery. This also links into our current topic of Under The Sea.

Our Caterpillars room had a blast posting their artwork through our play postbox. We decided to extend this activity and went to the post office added a stamp to our artwork and posted it back to nursery.
We have also been exploring whats in the sea, diving into an underwater adventures with messy play like spaghetti and blue rice.
The children have been creating star-shaped cutters and stickle bricks to create their own sea-inspired artwork.

In May, our Bumblebees room have been enjoyed playing firefighters, developing their fine motor skills by spraying water to extinguish 'fires' and creating fire-themed art using different materials.
As we moved into June, the children will delve into an underwater theme, using a variety of materials to produce artistic creations, such as sun catchers, fork pufferfish designs, and bubble wrap starfish crafts.

We have experienced lot of different weathers today and to top it off we got to see a rainbow 🌈🌦️

We had a great time getting into the Christmas spirit with our families sipping mulled wine, hot chocolate and eating mince pies 🎄

In Butterflies and Sunflowers class, we have been practicing our fine motor skills. We created our own Christmas lights as part of our tuff tray activity 🎄

This week we are celebrating world food week. We asked our parents to bring in any cultural dishes they eat at home and share them with us. One of our parents kindly brough us in some homemade Irish Soda Bread to try and it was a big hit 😋
