ππ Exploring the Solar Eclipse! ππ
This week at nursery, the children have been learning all about the exciting solar eclipse taking place today, 12th August! ππβοΈ
The children got creative by painting their own suns and using tin foil to create their moons, making their very own solar eclipse artwork. π¨β¨ We also enjoyed a short story about how to safely look at the Sun.
We talked about what happens during a solar eclipse. The children then created their own eclipse artwork using lots of bright and beautiful colours. π
Some of the children are very excited about watching the eclipse, so we made sure to remind everyone about the importance of protecting our eyes and wearing proper eclipse safety glasses! π₯½
What a fantastic way to combine creativity, curiosity and learning about the world around us β and beyond! ππ«

This month in preschool has been wonderfully exciting as we've enjoyed ice play, exploring melting and mixing colours, which has really helped develop our hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and communication skills. The children had a fantastic time painting their own beaches and sharing their personal stories. We also took part in cooking activities, making healthy oaty bites with just three simple ingredients. The kids absolutely loved measuring, mixing, and tasting their yummy and nutritious creations!

π What a fun-filled July we've had! π
This month in Bumblebees room, it has been packed with laughter, learning, and lots of wonderful memories. From getting wonderfully messy through sensory and creative play π¨ποΈ to building new friendships and developing a growing sense of self, our children have embraced every opportunity to explore and thrive.
We're also incredibly proud to have supported our local clothes bank with a trip to the local clothes bank and donating unused and unwanted clothing from nursery.
As we look back on a fantastic month, we're excited for all the new adventures August will bring!

π¦ National Butterfly Count Week π¦
This week, we have been busy celebrating National Butterfly Count Week with lots of fun, hands-on activities!
π¨ We created beautiful butterflies using painted potatoes and practised our counting skills by counting their wings.
ποΈ The children designed and drew their own colourful butterflies, letting their creativity take flight.
π We headed outdoors on a butterfly hunt to see what we could spot in nature.
It has been a wonderful week of learning about these amazing pollinators while developing creativity, counting skills, and a love for the natural world. Well done, everyone! π¦π

π₯π§ The children had great fun making delicious egg muffins for their tea today!
They enjoyed getting involved in every step of the process, from chopping the ingredients, then mixing them all together. Activities like cooking help children develop important skills such as measuring, following instructions, and working together, all while having lots of fun! ππ©βπ³π¨βπ³
