A trip to the market ☀️

Recently during story time, we read ‘Maisy Goes Shopping’.

Maisy goes to her local supermarket and purchases some fruit including bananas.

Our caterpillars were a little hungry after tea so we decided to go on an adventure walking around our neighbourhood and stopping at our local Tesco!

One of our favourite creative activities is making salt paintings! 🦋

It's a great way for our little ones to work on their fine motor skills whilst growing their confidence by being creative in their own way... All whilst having loads of fun 🤩

Playdough masterclass @ South Norwood ✨

We suited up in our blue aprons that we had to get a little help to put on. We then practiced our personal, social and emotional skills by waiting to hear then follow instructions to start making.

We each had different jobs to practice our listening and attention skills to follow, and did so correctly.

We used our speaking skills along with our colour knowledge, to choose what colour to make our different playdoughs.

Then used our maths skills to divide pieces to share with our friends.

When the playdough was finished we collected bits and bobs from the home corner to turn the dough into food.

Using our creative art skills with our imaginative play to make some wonderfully colourful creations for our shop!

Eid Mubarak ✨

to when our preschoolers have engaged in a range of activities that have focused on the use of our fine motor skills, like using scissors to snip, tools for hairdressing, and the large transport vehicles to scoop blocks that coordinate with the correct coloured letter.

We explored an animal tuff tray that incorporated numbers and picture association, discussing the different animal parts and how many arms and legs they have.

The children particularly enjoyed a sensory exploration activity which consisted of hunting for clear balls in shaving foam and water using different techniques and utensils to test each others ideas - focusing on the concept of trial and error - asking significant questions such as "what", "why" and "how".

Earlier this week we participated in a variety of Curiosity Approach style activities, to allow the children to use their own imagination and extend activities on their own 👍🏻

With the loose parts set up, the children decided to match, group and sort the objects before adding some people and animals to create a small world scene 🪵🪨
