🌟 What a wonderful week we’ve had at nursery! 🌟

Our children have been busy exploring, creating and learning through play this week 💚
🎨 We enjoyed a colourful water painting activity using pipettes and cornflour, helping to develop fine motor skills, hand strength and coordination whilst encouraging creativity and curiosity.

🌿 Outdoors, the children loved taking part in a nature matching game, exploring the environment around them and building observation skills as they matched natural treasures they discovered.

It has been fantastic to see so much teamwork, concentration, imagination and smiles throughout the week. We are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic everyone has been ✨

🧁🥣 Messy play at its best yesterday! Our babies had so much fun exploring this baking-themed tuff tray using oats, water and Weetabix 👩‍🍳✨
Lots of squishing, mixing, scooping and sensory exploration going on — perfect for developing fine motor skills, curiosity and imagination while having lots of messy fun! 💛
We absolutely love activities that encourage children to explore different textures and get hands-on with their learning 😊

🦷✨ Let’s Get Brushing! ✨🦷

Healthy smiles start with simple daily habits, and tooth brushing is one of the most important! At nursery, we’re encouraging children to build confidence in brushing their teeth through fun, play-based activities—because learning should always be exciting!

Brushing twice a day helps to keep teeth strong, prevents tooth decay, and keeps those little smiles shining bright!

Top tips for home:
🪥 Brush for 2 minutes, morning and bedtime
🪥 Use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste
🪥 Make it fun—sing a song or use a timer!
🪥 Encourage independence, with a little help from grown-ups

By working together—nursery and home—we can help children develop lifelong healthy habits 💛

🦷✨ Smile, it’s Oral Health Day in our Nursery! ✨🦷

Today our Munchkins have been busy exploring the importance of keeping our teeth clean and healthy. Using toothbrushes and toothpaste, the children had so much fun practising their brushing skills on our dinosaur teeth 🦕—a big hit and a brilliant way to build confidence!

Through play, we’ve been learning:
• How to brush our teeth properly
• Why we brush twice a day
• The importance of looking after our smiles

It’s been a fun, hands-on day full of giggles, learning, and lots of sparkling smiles! 😁✨

🌈 Colourful Learning in Action! 🎨
Today in the nursery, our children explored the wonderful world of colours through fun matching and mixing activities! From identifying colours to experimenting with blending paints, the children were fully engaged and curious throughout.
They loved discovering how colours change when mixed—turning simple play into exciting little “wow” moments! 💫

🚒☀️ Little Firefighters in Action! ☀️🚒

Our preschool boys had a brilliant time in the garden today, turning a simple plastic tube into a fire hose! 💦 With lots of imagination and laughter, they worked together to “put out fires” in the sunshine.

It was wonderful to see their teamwork, communication, and creativity shine through as they took on their roles and supported each other in their play. Their smiles said it all! 😊

🐚✨ Under the Sea Fun in Preschool! ✨🐚

Today in our preschool room, we dove into a creative underwater adventure! 🌊 The children explored shell painting, using real shells to create beautiful prints with a variety of bright, ocean-inspired colours.

It was a fantastic sensory activity—feeling the different textures of the shells, experimenting with patterns, and watching their unique designs come to life on paper. 🐠🎨

Learning outcomes:
• Developing fine motor skills through gripping and manipulating shells
• Exploring creativity and self-expression using different colours and patterns
• Enhancing sensory awareness through touch and texture
• Building language skills by describing what they could see and feel
• Encouraging curiosity about the natural world and sea life

☀️ Shadow fun in the sunshine! ☀️

Today the children have been exploring their shadows outdoors and it sparked so much curiosity and laughter! They loved watching how their shadows moved as they wiggled, jumped and stretched their bodies.

We had great fun making different shapes and comparing who had the tallest shadow – lots of excited guesses and big smiles all round! 😊

This simple activity encouraged the children to think about light, movement and their own bodies in a fun and engaging way.
