“Hello?”
It’s something most of us say automatically when the phone rings.
But what if you don’t recognise the number?
I’ve been talking recently about scam calls and how easy it is to get caught off guard when someone phones you unexpectedly.
You don’t have to give the caller anything.
You don’t have to confirm your name.
And you certainly don’t have to answer questions just because they called you.
If you’re unsure who is calling:
👉 Ask who they are and why they’re calling.
👉 Don’t give personal or financial information.
👉 If they claim to be from your bank, a company or an organisation, hang up and contact them using a number you already trust.
And if it’s a recorded message or something doesn’t feel right?
You can simply hang up.
You don’t need to be polite to a scammer. 😉
Have you ever had a phone call that immediately made you think, “Something isn’t right here”?
