Our weekly Rugby Tots sessions with the brilliant Coach Sam are a big hit with our 2, 3 and 4 year olds! Each session is packed with fun games, obstacle courses and simple rugby skills like running with the ball, kicking and throwing β€” all designed especially for little legs and busy minds.

Rugby Tots helps children build confidence, coordination and balance, while also learning important skills like listening, taking turns and working together. Most importantly, it’s all about having fun, burning energy and developing a love for being active in a friendly, supportive environment.

Lots of smiles, lots of laughs and lots of proud little players every week! πŸ’™

What a wonderful morning we have had. We kicked started our Christmas celebrations with a family service at our local church. A huge thank you to Reverend Richard and Sue for welcoming us this morning.

The children sang songs, decorated a tree and listened to the Christmas story.

Visiting the local church provides preschool children with a unique opportunity to experience a sense of community and tradition in a warm and welcoming environment. It allows them to engage with values like kindness, respect, and compassion through age-appropriate activities and teachings.

We then enjoyed a lovely stroll back to Preschool in the sunshine.

We haven’t even got to 9am and look what our children have been busy creating. They were keen to construct the tallest tower possible so reached out to their grown ups for help in order to achieve their goal.

Constructing with 3D shapes has so many benefits:

Fine motor skills: Gripping, manipulating, and stacking blocks helps develop hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

Gross motor skills: Larger construction play can also support gross motor skill development.

Spatial awareness: Children learn to understand how objects fit together in space, develop a sense of scale, and recognize spatial relationships.

Cause and effect: Stacking a tower and watching it fall helps children understand that their actions have consequences.

Confidence: Successfully building a structure boosts a child's confidence.

Persistence and resilience: When a tower falls, children learn to try again, building resilience.

Early numeracy: Children explore concepts like counting, size comparison, and balance.

We can not wait to see what the rest of the day brings!

Mark making magic at preschool!

We are consistently providing a breadth of mark-making opportunities within our daily provisions. From chalk and paint to sticks in sand and water brushes on walls.

Mark making supports children to develop early writing skills, build fine-motor strength, express creativity, and grow in confidence as young communicators.

We recently explored colours and collaborated with our peers to create a representation of fireworks we had seen in the sky.

We developed our gross motor skills by using large pieces of cardboard to paint on, using large brush strokes, splattering the paint by flicking it on the cardboard as well as dripping the paint from above.

Our Bears and Cubs loved this activity as it developed their creativity and colour recognition.

We love watching their thoughts and ideas come to life!

Motivational Monday 😊

A very exciting project is taking shape within our outdoor area at Preschool and we thought that we would share it with you all ……. Introducing our new sensory/relaxation garden.

Construction took place over February half term and our team, in partnership with our children, are busy planning how to develop the area.

We would like to say a very big Thank you to Crowle Parish Hall Trust who have supported our vision and to Robert and his helpers for working tirelessly to complete the build.

We will be sharing our progress with you over the coming weeks.
