A forest school approach to stretch the comfort zone, and inspire creativity, self-esteem and resilience. Wild & Green Sussex - Forest School for All
We offer nature-based activities at our woodland setting. Great care and thought goes into creating sessions that are enriching, playful and great fun – for children (and adults!) of all ages. Nature plays a vital role in keeping us happy, healthy and able to tackle whatever life throws at us. Set outdoors, Forest School is a gentle learning approach offering a way to connect with nature and with each other. It encourages children to stretch beyond their comfort zone – firing up creativity whilst building body awareness, self-esteem, resilience and confidence. Find us in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, where our broadleaf woodland nestles next to a meadow of soft wild grasses – a place to soak up the magic that nature has to offer. In our wild, green space kids can be kids and adults can re-discover some of the joys (and benefits) of being a kid! We currently offer Holiday Club for primary age children and family workshops, including those with special needs and limited access to the outdoors, but over time will be developing further sessions from tots to adults. Who we are
Wild & Green is owned and run by Paul and Louise of Crowborough. We are a limited company with a community ambition. We employ professional instructors and operate with a high adult:child ratio for the best quality experiences. We do try to keep our pricing as competitive, working hard to secure grants and funding to make our work as accessible as possible. We are fully insured (£5 million public liability / £10 million employers’ liability). Sessions are led by qualified Forest School Level 3 Leaders, who have Enhanced DBS and are Paediatric Forest School First Aiders. We carry out full Risk Benefit Assessments on activities and workshops. Louise Burton
Louise is a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader. She is also a highly experienced events professional, producing experiences ranging from small workshops to large-scale outdoor public events and festivals. She is mum to Ella and Alfie, an out-of-practice musician, very messy cook, and of course, a nature queen. Louise holds enhanced DBS, Paediatric 1st Aid, and is also a Mental Health First Aider. Paul Mepham
Tall Paul is a very sensible adult and supports all of our sessions, both on the day and behind the scenes by maintaining the woods and building shelters. Dad of 5, Grandpa of 3 and counting, he is a fitness guru, keen vegetable gardener and busy beekeeper. Paul holds enhanced DBS, Paediatric 1st Aid. In his day job he is a senior project manager in the charity sector.
