We had a very exciting visitor in school today… Pedro the Bear from Royal Mail! Pedro popped in to help us think about something really important – our feelings and how to look after our mental health. Pedro shared some brilliant reminders with us:

🗣️ Talking to a grown-up or friend can really help
🌈 Being kind (to others and ourselves!) makes the world a happier place

A special thank you to Mr Carabine, a parent in our school and a Royal Mail employee, for arranging this fantastic visit for our pupils. There were big smiles, lots of chatter and plenty of excitement throughout Pedro's visit – we think Pedro might have a few new fans in our school!

P.7 Pizza Party
Yesterday, we were all invited along with several other local schools for a Pizza Party. We enjoyed our yummy pizzas and juice. Thankyou to Father Derek and Sue who organized it all including our transport. Thankyou also to Kelly for making our pizzas.

Here’s a quick reminder of what you need to know:

💷 Cost: £2.50 per child
Please make sure payment and consent have already been completed as outlined in the school letter.

📋 Sponsorship: Sponsor forms should have been sent home – every contribution helps support our school community.

😎 Please send your child in with sunglasses or goggles to help protect their eyes during the run.

👕 Please wear old clothes, white t-shirt preferred.

P5 Skittles Maths 🍬📊

We had so much fun in maths using Skittles to revise tally charts and bar charts! 🍬📊 First, we sorted our sweets by colour and recorded our results using tally marks. ✍️ We then used this information to create bright, colourful bar charts 📈, helping us compare which colours were most and least common. It was a great way to practise counting, organising data, and reading charts—and the best part was enjoying the Skittles at the end! 😄🍭

🌟 P4–P7 Sports Day 🌟

Our P4–P7 pupils enjoyed an incredible Sports Day, full of excitement, determination, and plenty of fun! 😀🏃‍♀️ From competitive races to challenging activities, everyone gave it their all and demonstrated fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship. 👏🎉

We are immensely proud of all the children for their effort, resilience, and positive attitudes throughout the day. 🎉🥇👏 It truly was a brilliant event!

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and supportive families ❤️, and a very special thank you to Kilmore Rec for kindly providing their wonderful facilities once again.

Assembly Celebrations ⭐

We had a wonderful assembly this week, full of celebrations and achievements! 👏

We were delighted to recognise our Pupils of the Week, who have shown excellent effort, positive attitudes, and a real commitment to their learning. Well done to everyone who received an award! We are very proud of you! ⭐

We also took time to celebrate our recent birthdays, wishing a very happy birthday to all of our pupils who have marked their special day. We hope you all had a fantastic time celebrating! 🥳🎂🎈

Finally, there was great excitement as we announced the results of Sports Day 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️. All pupils showed fantastic team spirit and enthusiasm throughout the event. After some very close competitions, the final standings were:

🥉 3rd place: Tyrone
🥈 2nd place: Down
🥇 1st place: Armagh
A huge congratulations to Armagh for their victory, and well done to all house teams for their effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship. 💪🤝🏆

Celebrating International Day of Play 🎉

We had a fantastic time celebrating the International Day of Play at our school! 🌍✨ It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise the importance of play in children’s learning, wellbeing, and development—and our pupils certainly made the most of it. 😊

To mark the occasion, children came to school in their own clothes, adding an extra buzz of excitement to the day. The highlight of the day was an extra 31 minutes of play, giving pupils even more time to enjoy being active, creative, and social with their friends. From outdoor games to fun interactive literacy activities, the school was full of laughter, energy and smiles throughout the day. ⚽🎨🧩

Play is such a vital part of childhood, helping children to build friendships, develop confidence, and learn important life skills. We were delighted to celebrate this special day and to give our pupils the opportunity to simply enjoy being children. 💛
