Congratulations to Ivanna on an incredible achievement! 🎭

After arriving in the UK from Ukraine and facing the challenge of learning a new language, Ivanna never gave up on her dream of performing. Thanks to her determination, the support of her teachers and community, and her passion for theatre, she went on to create and perform her first one-woman show in English.

We’re incredibly proud of Asif Khan Shirzad and Mohammad Dawood Shirzad, two brothers who have just completed their ESOL journey with DurhamLearn and are now taking an exciting new step running their own fish and chip shop in Sunderland 🐟🍟

They joined us in September 2023 with limited English and studied in Seaham until April 2026, completing both ESOL and Living and Working in the UK courses. From day one, opening a business was their ambition and they’ve worked hard to make it a reality 💪✨

Huge congratulations to both of you, we wish you every success in your new venture! 🎊👏
