Your Head Student needs YOU!

Would you like to represent your year group, share ideas and help shape life at Parkside? We’re looking for enthusiastic students to become Year Group Ambassadors and help make sure every student’s voice is heard.

No application is needed! Simply put your name forward to your tutor by Friday 16th October.

Tutor groups will vote during tutor time on Monday 19th October for the students they feel will best represent their voice.

Year 7 students were absolutely fantastic during their ASPIRE Experience event focused on Civic Engagement! Challenged by the Mayor of Willington to plan, budget, design and pitch their ideas for a new park, students worked incredibly hard to develop creative and innovative proposals. Congratulations to 7K, our winning tutor group! Every group produced excellent ideas, demonstrating our Parkside values of Respect, Hard Work, Team Work and Creativity. We are incredibly thankful to the Mayor of Willington and her Consort for attending and supporting this fantastic event!

🔬 7E1 Scientists in Action!

7E1 have been developing their practical science skills by preparing their very own onion cell slides and viewing them under a light microscope.

Students carefully prepared thin samples of onion tissue, added a stain and mounted them onto slides before using the microscopes to bring the cells into focus. They were able to see the distinctive brick-like plant cells and their cell walls up close! 🔬🧫

A fantastic hands-on opportunity to put classroom learning into practice and develop important microscopy skills. Well done, 7E1! 👏
