Well… we’re finally dry after what can only be described as “Dancing in the Rain” - Cromer Carnival edition 😅
The weather might have been atrocious, all 98 people onboard our float were drenched to their bones but the amazing people of Cromer still came out and the rain ABSOLUTELY DID NOT STOP US FROM BRINGING IT HARD! We had an absolutely FANTASTIC time onboard and once again there was dancing, singing and lots of love from everyone onboard the float!
As always thank you to Cromer Carnival for having us and everything you guys do to make it happen every year.
There’s some extra special thank you’s. As for these people the float simply wouldn’t happen.
👷♂️💚First of all, I want to thank my amazing staff team Stuart & Dani. The float is very much Stuart’s operation, what is a party on a lorry soon becomes a military operation but every single year he has it running like a well oiled machine. This year, me and him put most of it together… when I say that, I basically passed him tools and held scaffolding in place and brought bacon rolls. Today we’ve both been at the lorry taking it apart casually dodging thunderstorms 🫣😅. Dani and I are also NOT supposed to be anywhere near each other when the float is being built… well, because quite frankly, we don’t take much seriously 🤷♂️ and it’s always funny - To us anyway 🤣
🎧💚One of the biggest thank you’s goes to our very own Phil from J&M Events. Every year alongside Stuart, Phil is an absolutely integral part of getting our float on the road. From organising the lorry, storing all the decorations and of course doing what he does best - Gets that float bouncing with a Live DJ set onboard the lorry. This year the weather made it the hardest, most challenging for him yet as all his DJ equipment got SOAKED and at one point we were seriously worried that we weren’t going to have any music at all 😬. Not on Phil’s watch… he improvised, went straight to plan B and within 10 minutes of us losing sound… it was on again and our float was BOUNCING!
🚛To Ben Daniels at BMD Transport & Aggregates Limited for once again kindly supplying the lorry and driver! Ben never asks for ANYTHING from us and is always happy to help and do whatever we need to get the show on the road. He’s a top bloke and we appreciate everything he does for us every year! Also a big thanks to a different Ben from BMD for driving us round 🤩
🔩Big thank you to Eddie at Skys the Limit scaffolding for kindly supplying the scaffolding that goes on the lorry for us. Even whilst on holiday he was more than happy to accommodate us and make sure we had everything we needed!
🍔 Big love to Rob Grand from Streat Boss Café & Catering who is also an NGMA parent who kindly donated the funds to pay for the monster generator needed to power all the lights and sound for a lorry that size - Absolute legend!
🔊To Karl at KSD Events for once again (7th year running) for kindly hiring us his ENORMOUS speakers and for coming onboard to support Phil with the sound onboard - He really put in a shift last night with the shenanigans caused by Mother Nature!
🏗️ To parent of the club and club member Sammy Bird from Carl Bird Ltd for kindly allowing us to use their site to put the float together giving us a safe space to work and for helping out whenever we needed them!
🔧Massive thank you to Jewsons in Cromer for getting us a brilliant rate on the generator and for supplying materials for is to build the float in years gone by. These guys support us every year!
👉Also some thanks go to Josh Hurren for supplying extra clips for the scaffolding. To Lillie Singer for once again SMASHING it in the Tigeress costume
💚💚💚Finally a huge thank you for all of our NGMA families for turning out in force and partying through town all night with us and not letting g the weather dampen your spirits (pardon the pun 🤭)
The float is now back in the unit, the lorry has gone back to work and that ladies and gents is wrap for 2026.
We’ll see you in 2027 🥳🥳🥳
📸Please feel free to add your own pictures of us in the comments! I’d love to see them 🤩
