And just like that… the Bairns have a roof from beautiful Larch from Fordie Estates

The progress on Saturday, while we were busy running our summer networking event, was absolutely insane!

A huge thank you to the amazing John Castley that fuelled the volunteers who got stuck in and helped transform the Bushcraft Bairns cabin. What was once a work-in-progress has become almost unrecognisable — and it’s incredible to see it all coming together.

So many hands, so much hard work, and so much community spirit.

Tracey and I genuinely couldn’t do this without you.

It really does take a village.

After our summer networking event, Sunday morning arrived… and, honestly, it was hard for anyone to go home!

After an evening spent in the cabin, sharing stories, ideas and inspiration about how we can all connect more through OWL Scotland, something special happened. Everyone fell a little bit in love with the place and, more importantly, with the vision behind it.

There was an instant sense of how can we be part of this?And that’s exactly what OWL is all about: creating connections, sharing skills, building relationships and supporting one another.

So, rather than heading straight home, we got stuck in!

We hosted a shingle workshop in the morning, learning, making and sharing skills together.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, got involved, lent a hand, shared their knowledge and helped make today happen.

Because it really does take a village and we’re so lucky to be building ours.
