hi, everyone i have been very quiet for a while but now i want to get back and help those who need help with their children's sleep and routines

When I was a young mum. I hated going to classes. I wanted to stay home and keep my baby safe. I had irrational thoughts and terrible anxiety. The last place I wanted to go was where other mums were talking about how wonderful everything was and small talk or anywhere to noisey because I couldn’t cope with noise and too many people.

I still can’t cope with too many people. I have always been a solitary person. I’ve worked alone but with families and I’ve supported new parents for 20 years. Helping take care of baby. Going to appointments with mum or classes so mum is not alone.

Having a baby changes everything. You no longer get up and go to work. You have lost that routine and identity but you are now a mum or dad and that’s wonderful but comes with many challenges.

I have just started infant massage classes just this year so I’m still getting started and I’m sharing to everyone that I am doing them.

The class is small. I lead the class and show you how to do the strokes on your baby. Week by week over 5 weeks. It’s small enough to get to know each other. It’s a quiet calm space for you to connect with your baby away from home distractions of house work and all things that need doing.

It gets you out of the house for an hour which breaks up the day and is good for you.

It’s social but you can chat or not chat because it’s a class for you.

You come in. Put your baby down on the mat. Sit with them. Calm music will be playing. Nice smells. Very gentle sensory for you and your baby.

We finish with a simple lullaby and all the babies and you leave calm.
Try and time it that your baby has slept so they are awake at the class.

You can feed. Change your baby. It’s non judgmental. I answer any questions and anything goes.

So considering I was scared to go to classes when my babies were young. I have gone to lots over the years with mums or on my own with the babies I take care of.

I want to help you feel welcome. This is a space for you.

It could be the first class you go to with your baby because you can come as soon as you manage to get out of the house.

Message me to book a space.

Tuesday 28th.
Friday 31st.
May.

But do contact for more dates. Let me know how old your babies are and I will let you know what dates are coming up.

As promised what happens with sleep at 6+ months

This is an acute stage of cognitive development and physical development

- your little one is now starting to sit
- roll front to back.
- teething
- weaning
- babbling

Most babies will have organised naps eg morning lunch time and mid-afternoon. The majority of their sleep is at night although night feeds are still normal.

As they are more active they will get tired easily. Overtiredness is sleeps worst enemy. It is very hard to settle a child to sleep if they are overtired.

This is an ideal time to put in place a routine that works for your family.

If you are having difficulty with your child's sleep please do leave a message below and I will get back to you.

Feeding to sleep is normal. Feeding induces sleep through a complex process of appetite-regulating and sleep-inducing hormones.

If your little one always falls asleep feeding, they are entirely normal, and you’ve done nothing wrong. It’s just your body, and your baby’s body doing what they’re supposed to.

Feeding in the night is a really complex beast, because feeding is not just about hunger.

Stopping feeding at night will almost certainly not immediately stop nighttime waking, it will just remove the easiest, quickest and most reliable way you have of getting your little one back to sleep.

That doesn’t mean you can’t make night times more sustainable if you need to, and there are responsive and respectful ways to do that.

But please don’t do it because you feel under pressure to do so.
