Starting Point Childcare Centre Consecutively OUTSTANDING Nursery for 0-5 year olds.

Originally founded in 1994, our Outstanding Childcare Centre, Starting Point caters for children aged 0-5 years and includes indoor and outdoor play areas, a baby room, Forest School area and underfloor heating. Our experienced team of fully-qualified and paediatric-trained staff provide a warm and friendly environment where your children can enjoy their early years.

🎃🕷️ Spooky fun with our toddlers! 👻✨

Our Toddlers have been busy getting creative with lots of Halloween activities! From making playdough spiders 🕷️ and decorating magical wands with leaves and glitter 🪄 to exploring potions and spells in our tuff trays 🧪, there has been so much to discover! We’ve also been creating potion pictures and using skeleton hands to practise our number skills 💀🔢.

These exciting activities encourage imagination, sensory exploration, fine motor development and early maths skills, all while learning through play. The children have had so much fun making memories and enjoying plenty of spooky magic! 🧡🍂

Our babies have had a wonderful time exploring the nursery rhyme ‘Riding along in my Tractor’ this week! They enjoyed getting hands-on with their tractors, dipping them into paint and pushing them across the paper to create exciting marks and patterns. Through this fun sensory experience, the babies explored colours, textures and movement while developing their curiosity and early mark-making skills.

Black History Month with our Rising 3s! ❤️💛💚

Our Rising 3s have had a fantastic week learning about Garrett Morgan and his traffic light invention! Through exciting games, they explored red means STOP, amber means GET READY and green means GO! 🏃‍♀️🚦 They also got creative making traffic light sandwiches, exploring different foods, colours and textures through sensory play. 🥪 We also discovered the inspiring Mary Seacole, transforming our role-play area into a hospital where the children explored how nurses care for and help people.

Our toddlers have been enjoying lots of lovely autumn activities this week! 🍂 They’ve been busy painting and washing pumpkins 🎃, then stretching and placing elastic bands around them, scooping lentils to feed our pretend squirrels 🐿️ and painting autumn trees using pom-poms. These hands-on experiences encourage fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and concentration, while also supporting sensory exploration, independence and confidence. It’s been wonderful to see the children getting involved, trying new things and learning through play as they explore the colours, textures and fun of autumn! 🍁✨

Our baby rooms nursery rhyme this week has been ‘ 5 little men in a flying saucer’. They have loved decorating there own space rocket and spacemen. We've also explored our rocket ship, pretending to fly to the moon, singing ‘zoom, zoom, zoom we’re going to the moon’. 🚀they’ve had a blast!
