Olivia joined rainbows when she was 5 years old, just as she started at Hungerford. She went on to complete all her interest badges and gain the highest award possible, the rainbow gold award. She’s then gone onto brownies where she also gained all the interest badges available and most recently her brownie gold award. Getting that award reflects the huge amount of time she’s put into her badge work. Well done Olivia!

Year 4 have had a brilliant DT day making tropical smoothies and fruit kebabs and designing their packaging. They enjoyed tasting different juices and fruits and then chopping, peeling and slicing to create their own healthy and refreshing snack and drink. Just what we all needed on a hot day! I was so proud of everyone pushing themselves out of their comfort zones to try or smell different fruits and juices. Grapefruit juice was definitely our least favourite and the vocabulary they used to describe each taste or smell was really adventurous.

Year 4 have spent the morning applying all their knowledge of electricity from this term's science lessons to build their own loop wire games! They had to think carefully about how to make their circuits complete and which materials are electrical conductors and insulators. They all worked incredibly hard and showed great teamwork and resilience - well done!

Yesterday, children in Year 6 were given the opportunity to represent the school in the sport they love away at Beechwood Primary school whilst scoring three goals in the process. Although the result didn't go our way, the atmosphere was incredible with beaming smiles on the faces of both teams even though some of the children were out of their comfort zones. We thank Beechwood for giving these children this experience.
