Say Yes to Mess! 🎨🌿

Mud on knees, paint-covered fingers, sand in shoes and water everywhere. It might look like mess, but for children it can be an experiment, an adventure, a work of art or a new discovery.

We’ve launched The Mess Report, new research exploring how families feel about messy play and whether children today are getting enough opportunities to experience it.

After speaking to 1,000 UK parents of children under 10, we found that 79% agree messy play supports children’s development, creativity and wellbeing, yet 70% believe children today don’t get enough opportunities to get messy.

We’re calling this The Mess Gap.

The Mess Report explores what might be behind that gap, why opportunities to pour, squash, mix, dig, build, splash and create are so valuable, and how we can make more space for them in childhood.

At Kids Planet, we’re proud to say Yes to Mess because we know there is method in the mess, and behind every muddy handprint and paint splatter is an opportunity for learning.

We know that sleep is an important part of every child's growth, development and wellbeing. 💚

Recently, updated safer sleep guidance came into effect across the early years sector - reinforcing the importance of creating safer sleep environments for babies and young children.

At Kids Planet, safer sleep practices are embedded across our nurseries, and our teams work closely with families to support each child's individual routine.

We've shared a few simple reminders that can help create a safe and comfortable sleep environment both at nursery and at home.

Apprentices are an integral part of Kids Planet, developing their skills while making a difference in our nurseries every day. 💚

Alana joined Kids Planet unqualified in 2024 and began her apprenticeship through our in-house Training Academy. After completing her Level 3, she is now working towards her Level 5 and has progressed to Deputy Manager.

Her journey has taken her from learning on the job and gaining hands-on experience to developing the knowledge and skills to progress her career, supported by the people around her at Kids Planet.

We’re proud to continue investing in apprenticeships that support long-term development, progression and rewarding careers across Kids Planet.

We’re evolving how we keep our community safe 💚

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding excellence, we’re taking an even more careful approach to what we share on social media, and focusing on storytelling, activities and updates, with fewer identifiable images.

Over the coming weeks, this page will be closing as we transition to our new regional page Kids Planet Cheshire and Warrington, where you’ll still find all the latest news from your local nurseries in one place.

Keep an eye out for your new regional page and make sure you’re following to stay connected.

As always, Famly remains the best place for personalised updates about your child.

Thank you for being part of the Kids Planet family! 💫
