Yesterday I received the sad news that Brenda Forward, had passed away πβ€οΈβπ©Ήπ
Itβs difficult to put into words just how much Brenda, along with Gillian, shaped my life.
Brenda didnβt just help me (and many others) reach the top in Freestyle, achieve titles and become the dancers we dreamed of. She also pushed me and developed me in theatre genres, opening doors that ultimately led me to become an international showgirl and take my dancing around the world as a professional artist π€β¨
But her influence went far beyond what happened on a dance floor.
Brenda and Gillian helped shape the woman and teacher I am today. So much of the confidence I have in myself, my abilities and what I know I can achieve comes from the belief they instilled in me all those years ago.
I still talk about Brenda often, she was tough. I naturally teach as she did at times, which doesnβt always go down well these days π but she was a force, says it exactly how it is and ultimately only wanted the best from her studentβs. The stories, the lessons, the memories, the things she taught me - so much of it has stayed with me (and my family) throughout life, and always will.

Some people come into your life and leave an impression, they help shape the person you become. Brenda was one of those people for me π₯°π«ΆπΌ
I feel incredibly lucky to have had her as a mentor for those years of my life, and I will always be grateful for the opportunities, lessons, laughter and memories she gave me at Fame Academy.
Thank you Brenda. Your influence will live on through me, through my teaching, and through every dancer I help along the way ππΌ
Rest peacefully ποΈ
A true icon, inspiration and incredibly talented woman π
