We’ve been a little quieter than usual on our social media pages, but there’s a very valid reason..
That’s because we’ve welcomed a very special new arrival, my beautiful baby girl, Maisie 🩷 She’s now nearly 6 weeks old and has completely stolen our hearts!! (and is definitely keeping me busy!)

Some of you may have already seen me popping in here and there to say hello! I couldn’t stay away for too long🤭

Thank you so much for your patience whilst I’ve been soaking up those precious newborn moments. I’m not back just yet, but you might spot me popping in every now and then for a little visit!

As always, thank you for being such a lovely, supportive part of our Little Monkeys family 🐵🥰

2025.. 🥰 What a year it’s been!
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our parents and children for such a brilliant year. To the little ones who have come and gone on to their next adventures, and to the children who will be leaving us in the New Year, thank you for being such a special part of our 2025 journey 🤎
The last month has been a busy one filled with Christmas excitement! From preparing for Santa’s visit today, to celebrating with our end of year Christmas party! it’s been full of fun, magic, and lots of memories. It’s also been a bit of a tricky few weeks with illnesses making the rounds, so we hope everyone gets to enjoy a joyful and restful Christmas!

We’d also like to say a big thank you for the thoughtful gifts, kind words, and generous gestures. We are incredibly grateful and truly appreciate everything, especially your continued support 🤍

Wishing all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year🎄✨🤍

We’ve had a busy and exciting week with the children! Our days have been filled with festive fun, with park visits where the children enjoyed climbing, exploring, and developing their confidence outdoors!

We’ve had a special Christmas themed trip to the library, where the children listened to stories, joined in with songs, and created their own Christmas garland! supporting their love of books and language.

Back at the setting, the children got creative throughout the week with messy play using pretend snow and polar animals, scooping, pouring, and building snowy scenes. They explored the winter sensory bottles, observing the colours and textures inside and shaking them to see what would happen.

The children were fully immersed in our Polar Express small-world play, using their imaginations to bring the snowy train adventures to life!

It’s been a hands-on week filled with curiosity, learning, and lots of Christmas magic!🎄🎅🏼

Children In Need 💛🧸

Even though the storm brought a very rainy day and a few of our little ones have been off poorly, we’ve still had a lovely, cosy day here today!

The children have enjoyed snuggly pyjamas, fun activities, and lots of smiles as we do our bit for Children In Need.

Remembrance Sunday ❤️

The children enjoyed a meaningful visit to our local church today. We viewed the poppy displays and talked about why we remember our fallen soldiers. The children chose a poppy to take home and carefully placed their pennies into the RBL pot, helping them feel part of this important act of remembrance.

Back at our setting, the children explored poppy coloured sensory rice. They tipped, scooped, and poured the rice into different containers, encouraging thoughtful conversations and focused play ✨

Pompom Pumpkin Counting 🎃

The children had lots of fun using tweezers to pick up colourful pompoms and place them onto their pumpkin mats! They carefully matched the pompoms to the numbers on each pumpkin, practising their counting skills from 1 to 5.

This activity supported the children’s hand-eye coordination, finger strength, concentration, and precision as they focused on placing each pompom in just the right spot! ✨🧡

New Staff Member 🌟

Sally 🤎

Sally joins us with an incredible 18 years of experience in childcare and school settings. She’s NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualified and has completed a wide range of specialist training, including Managing Challenging Behaviour and ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) to name a few. Sally has previously worked with Abbey in a nursery; outside of work she’s a close friend to our family and proud mum to her 18 year old daughter Ayla. Her favourite thing about working in childcare is ‘helping children achieve new things, and helping them develop new milestones.’

New Staff Member🌟

Ruby 🤎

Ruby is Holly’s sister and joins us with over two and a half years of experience at Kids Planet, where she worked her way up to room leader. Ruby is 19, and has already completed her Level 2 qualification and is close to finishing her Level 3 in Early Years Education.
Ruby is also Paediatric First Aid trained and fully DBS checked.
Her favourite thing about working in childcare is ‘knowing she’s making a difference.’

Autumn Scavenger Hunt 🍁🐿️🌰

We’re going on an autumn scavenger hunt,
We’re going to find some treasures!
What a lovely day!
We’re not scared!

Uh oh! MUD!!!
Sticky, squelchy mud!
We can’t go over it,
We can’t go under it,
Oh no!
We’ve got to go through it!
Squelch, squelch, squelch, squelch!

We’re going on an autumn scavenger hunt,
We’re going to find some treasures!
What a lovely day!
We’re not scared!

Quick! Back home before the rain!
Back past the squirrel, tiptoe, tiptoe!
Back through the mud, squelch, squelch!
Back through the leaves, crunch, crunch!

We went on an autumn scavenger hunt…
And we found all the autumn treasures!

Exploring the River Dane 🤎

The children loved exploring the river dane! We had lots of fun throwing pooh sticks into the water and watching to see who’s stick travelled the furthest. Along the way, we spotted lots of beautifully coloured autumn leaves and collected them in our bucket to take back to our setting to use during sensory play. The children enjoyed jumping in muddy puddles and looking out for cows in the nearby field! Sadly no conkers were found on our hunt, but the children showed great curiosity and excitement as they explored the outdoors, developing their confidence and appreciation for nature!🐄🍁

🎃 Halloween Banana Lollies 🍌

The children had lots of fun making their own banana halloween lollies! Using child-friendly knives, they carefully cut bananas in half, learning new words like half and whole while practising safe cutting skills.
We counted how many pieces we had and talked about numbers before dipping the bananas in chocolate and placing them on lollipop sticks to take home.

The children showed great care and confidence! They were very proud of their spooky, chocolatey creations! 👻✨
