GCSE Results at The Oaks Academy

A huge congratulations to all our Year 11 pupils at The Oaks Academy, part of the Learning Partnership, on securing their GCSE results today! We are incredibly proud of their achievements, which reflect the hard work, determination and ambition they have shown throughout their time with us.

This year’s results highlight the continued commitment of both our pupils and staff, with successes across English, Maths and a wide range of subjects. These achievements are the culmination of years of dedication, resilience and effort.

We are particularly delighted to celebrate Charlie S, Sophie L, Joshua S, Marwa K, Grzegorz D, Zofia K, Emilia K, Victoria W, Nikita P and Zara R, who all achieved Grade 9s or equivalent.

Mr Kingdom, Headteacher, said: β€œWe are proud of every pupil and the progress they have made during their time at The Oaks Academy. These outcomes reflect the efforts of our pupils, dedicated staff and supportive families.”

As our pupils move on to A Levels, vocational courses, apprenticeships and further education, we wish them every success. Be proud of everything you have achieved and look forward with confidence to the exciting opportunities ahead!

Congratulations, Year 11!

Year 9 pupil Nikyen is making the most of an incredible opportunity after being selected to travel to Thailand to train in Muay Thai!

His adventure began with six days in Pattaya, where he trained at two different Muay Thai gyms, experiencing different coaching styles and standards. Each training session lasted an intense two hours and, in Nikyen's own words, was "very exhausting"!

From there, he flew to Krabi for another six days, where he continued his training at two more local gyms. Once again, the sessions were physically demanding but, as Nikyen said, "so much fun."

Away from the gym, Nikyen has embraced every opportunity to experience Thai culture. He stepped well outside his comfort zone by trying authentic street food – even eating crocodile on a stick! A huge achievement for someone who rarely ventures outside his comfort zone when it comes to food.

His trip has also included a speedboat tour around the stunning islands and coastline of Krabi, watching a professional Muay Thai fight in Pattaya, and experiencing the spectacular traditional fire show in Krabi – all while adapting to the tropical heat.

What an amazing experience for Nikyen, developing his skills, embracing new cultures and creating memories that will last a lifetime. We are incredibly proud of everything he has achieved and look forward to hearing about the rest of his adventure!

Drop Down Character Day – Wednesday 15th July

This week our students stepped away from their usual timetable for a day of inspiring experiences designed to develop character, confidence and future aspirations.

πŸ’œ Year 7 explored the world of work during their Bentley Work Experience Day.
πŸ‰ Year 8 put their creativity, teamwork and enterprise skills to the test in the Skills Builder Dragons' Den Challenge.
🌍 Year 9 embraced global thinking through their Culture & Sustainability Day, exploring how they can make a positive impact on the world around them.
πŸ’Ό Year 10 gained invaluable real-world experience by taking part in off-site work experience with employers across the local area.

Our Character Days are all about giving students opportunities beyond the classroom to Inspire, Believe and Achieve. We're proud of the enthusiasm, resilience and ambition shown by every student today. Many thanks to all the employers who supported this day.
