Looking for fun things for your child to do during the holidays? 🎉

We’re sharing information about free holiday activities and food available for children and young people aged 5–16 who receive Targeted Free School Meals.

🍽️ Free activities & food
⚽ Fun and engaging holiday activities
👧🧒 For ages 5–16
💚 Funded places available for eligible children and young people

Paid places are also available for those who aren’t eligible for a funded place.

On Friday 16th October, we’re turning Madeley pink to support Breast Cancer Now and help raise money for life-saving research and life-changing support.

🎀 Wear something pink with your uniform for a £1 donation (no pink hair please!)

🧁 Bake Sale – grab a tasty treat and help support this fantastic cause!
🎟️ Raffle – enter for your chance to win some great prizes while raising money.

This week's Positive Learner Focus is 'Keep going when it is difficult'. This forms part of our Resilience Core Value. We are encouraging all students to stay focused when challenged, keep going after mistakes and complete difficult tasks. Perseverance means continuing when success does not come immediately. We can pause, revisit the instructions, use support and try another approach. Let us solve small problems calmly, move on positively from setbacks and encourage others not to give up. Let us keep going, learn from mistakes and try again.

This week's Positive Learner Focus is 'Improve after feedback'. This forms part of our Resilience Core Value. We are encouraging all students to respond to teacher feedback, redraft and correct their work, and act on the next steps they have been given. Reflective learners think carefully about what feedback tells them and use it to make purposeful improvements. The first attempt is part of the learning process, not the end of it. Around school, we can show resilience by staying calm, learning from difficulties and asking what we could do better next time. Let us reflect, refine and make our next attempt stronger.

Madeley School is looking to appoint a motivated and professional Teacher of Spanish to join our forward-thinking MFL department.
