🎉 GCSE RESULTS DAY 2026! 🎉

Yesterday was a very special day at Madeley School as our students collected their GCSE results — and what a moment it was! 💚✨

We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work, resilience and determination shown by our students. These results are a fantastic reflection of their commitment, and we loved seeing the smiles, celebrations and excitement as they opened their results. 🎓👏

With 85% achieving Maths 4+ and 79% achieving English 4+, our students have achieved phenomenal results, significantly above the national average. ⭐

A huge congratulations to every single student — and a heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff, parents, carers and wider school community for the support, encouragement and belief that helped make these achievements possible.

Yesterday, Year 7 took part in an exciting Enrichment Day led by the external company Commando Joe's. Throughout the day, students worked together in teams, developing their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills through a range of engaging activities.

In true Harry Potter style, the highlight of the day was an exciting game of Quidditch, with every team proudly representing one of the Hogwarts houses. Students embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, showing excellent sportsmanship, confidence, and resilience as they competed and supported one another.

To round off the day, everyone came together to celebrate their achievements and reflect on a fantastic experience. It was wonderful to see Year 7 enjoying the sunshine, working collaboratively, and demonstrating such positive attitudes throughout the day.

Well done, Year 7, for making the most of a brilliant Enrichment Day!

Madeley School will close early tomorrow

Due to the exceptionally high temperatures forecast, and following a risk assessment of the school environment, we have made the decision to close early tomorrow to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff.

Early closure time: 13:15pm

Parents and carers have been sent further information regarding collection arrangements.

Day 5 started with a fantastic tour of the iconic San Mamés Stadium, followed by some free time to explore Bilbao. A special happy birthday to Dino, who celebrated his big day on the trip! 🎉🎂

Unfortunately, our journey home was delayed by a long wait at the airport, but despite that, everyone remained positive and represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip.

¡Hola from the beautiful Valle de Liébana! 🇪🇸

Today has been another unforgettable day of adventure. We travelled to the very end of the mountain road before taking the spectacular cable car high into the peaks for some truly breathtaking views. ¡Fabuloso!

This afternoon, we explored the picturesque mountain village of Potes, where students enjoyed some shopping, souvenirs and, of course, well-earned ice creams. 🍦🏔️

Now it’s time to head back to the beach after a fantastic day discovering more of the incredible landscapes and culture of northern Spain. 🇪🇸☀️

Today, students visited Cabárceno Natural Park, enjoying several cable car rides and spectacular views across the park.

This afternoon, they spent time exploring the beautiful town of Santillana del Mar, taking in its historic streets and unique atmosphere.

A blissful 25°C in Santander today – perfecto! 🌿☀️

The day has been spent enjoying a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens, browsing the bustling market and local shops, and taking in the stunning coastline on a boat trip. The sunshine has been kind, the sea breeze refreshing, and everyone is happy, well, and keeping cool in Spain.

Urgent Notice‼️ In anticipation of the forecast for hot weather this week, blazers and ties are not expected to be worn in school. Please bring a refillable water bottle to school to keep hydrated and remember to top it up at social times. Also, please apply sunscreen before school and bring a hat/sunglasses for time outside the school buildings. We are looking forward to the sunshine but need to ensure that every one stays safe and well. ☀️🌞
