Every single entry brought a smile to our faces, and we’re so glad you get to see and enjoy them too!

The main reason we ran this competition was to encourage you all to keep dancing and practising over the summer, because that’s something that’s super important to us!

We’ve absolutely loved seeing what you’ve all been up to and the effort you’ve put into your photos. Well done and see you back in the studio next week! 💜

Gemma and Sophie didn’t do too well on the photography front today 😂 so these are the only pictures we managed to get… but what an AMAZING day it was!

We just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who came along to our Open Day today! 🥰

It was so lovely to see everyone mingling, meeting new teachers and getting to know students from both JMA and S&G. We loved watching some fabulous performances from our students, seeing everyone get involved with our Dance Detective scavenger hunt as well as reading all of your completed questionnaires!

Your feedback is so important to us and really helps us as we begin this exciting new chapter together, so thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Most of all, thank you for making today feel so special. We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back into the studio as ONE BIG SCHOOL on 7th September!

What an amazing Summer School we’ve had! 💜

A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers, Georgia, Lily and Luca, who have supported Gemma and Sophie throughout our second S&G Summer School! You have all worked so hard, and we are so proud of every single one of you for trying new styles and getting stuck in.

It’s been so lovely to see you making new friends, working as a team and, of course, enjoying every moment of dancing in some very hot weather! ☀️

Thank you for bringing all the energy, enthusiasm and smiles. We have absolutely loved dancing with you all!

✨ MEET MISS EMILY ✨

Miss Emily’s dance journey began at just 3 years old at the Katharine Mitchell School of Dance before joining J.M. Acrobatics when it opened in 2018. Since then, she has progressed through the Acrobatics Arts syllabus to Level 7 while also gaining valuable experience performing in solos, duets and group routines at competitions.

After five years as an Assistant Coach, Emily achieved her Acrobatics Arts Module 1 Instructor qualification in 2026. Her encouraging nature, patience and passion for teaching make her a fantastic role model for our students.

Alongside acrobatics, Emily has continued to develop her dance training, studying Sport & Exercise Science at Exeter College and performing at the prestigious Sadler’s Wells East in London as part of the Making Moves project.

As well as teaching across our acrobatics programme, Miss Emily will also be our official cover teacher, supporting classes across SGDA.

We’re so excited to welcome Miss Emily to the S&G Dance Academy team! 💜 Her journey from student to teacher is truly inspiring, and we know she’ll have a wonderful impact on all of our dancers and acrobats.

✨MEET MISS CAITLIN✨

Miss Caitlin began her journey with J.M. Acrobatics in 2018 as an 11-year-old student and has worked her way through the Acrobatics Arts syllabus, achieving Level 8 and now training towards her Pre-Professional 1 qualification.

As a competition team member, Caitlin has gained valuable performance experience in both group and duet routines, giving her a fantastic understanding of what it takes to succeed both in class and on stage.

After discovering her passion for teaching, Caitlin completed her Acrobatics Arts Teacher Training in 2024, achieving an incredible 100%! She is also a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer, bringing a wealth of knowledge in strength and conditioning to help our students progress safely and confidently.

We’re so excited to welcome Miss Caitlin to the S&G Dance Academy team! 💜 We know she’ll be an inspiring teacher and role model for all of our young acrobats.

We are so incredibly proud of this one!

A National Finalist and Top 14 in the country! An incredible achievement and so well deserved. At just 6 years old, Xanthe works unbelievably hard every single week and her determination and love for dancing truly shines through.

Miss Gemma is absolutely over the moon and so proud to have seen you bring her choreography to life through your beautiful dancing. You performed with such confidence, emotion and maturity beyond your years.

It’s not every day one of your students reaches the All England National Finals, and to see you achieve this at such a young age is something very special. Congratulations 💜
