Queen Elizabeth's School Welcome to Queen Elizabeth's School or QE, as it is often affectionately known. The Western Road Campus houses Years 9 to 13 in an eclectic mix of buildings.

QE is a successful school with a rich and proud history, where students make good and outstanding progress. Spread across two separate sites, the school currently houses nearly 1,300 students - 200 of whom are in its exceptional Sixth Form. The Barnfield Campus, with its beautiful grounds and views across to Dartmoor, houses Years 7 and 8. This safe and secure environment allows younger students t

o thrive and comfortably find their feet, as they adjust to secondary education in a calm and friendly atmosphere. Queen Elizabeth’s aims to get the absolute best out of staff and students alike. There were smiles all round at QE today as students received their GCSE results and looked ahead to the next stage of their education.

The school is celebrating another strong year of GCSE results with 73% of students achieving 4 and above (standard pass) in English and Maths. Results were strong across the full range of subjects with more than half of all qualifications awarded at grade 5 (strong pass) or above. These fantastic results are supporting students to go onto their choice of next steps with confidence.

Queen Elizabeth’s Sixth Form offers the opportunity to make great progress in your Post-16 education. Applications are welcome for our September 2026 intake, come along to the enrolment day on Thursday 3rd September between 1.30pm and 3.00pm at the Western Road campus.

Congratulations to everyone who received their A-Level results today.

The vast majority of students have achieved a place at their first choice university, with courses in everything from Archaeology to Zoology in locations the length and breadth of the country from Plymouth to York. Others are enjoying a year to travel and gain work experience with some students having secured jobs locally in Exeter and mid-Devon.

We've had a busy morning up at The Mount - thank you to everyone who has been up and visited. Lots of furniture has been collected already, but we still have a wide selection of beds, a few wardrobes, chests of drawers and a few sofas left - please feel free to pop up and take a look.

Everything is FREE to take - Open until 2pm today.

Please note that you are responsible for dismantling and loading up furniture - we unfortunately don't have power tools that you can use.

School is now finished for the summer holidays.

Have a lovely break everyone!

Years 7, 9, 11 and 13 return on Monday 7th September.
Years 8 and 10 return on Tuesday 8th September.
Year 12 enrolment day is Thursday 3rd September and they then start on Wednesday 9th September.
