The landlord database has been announced, here's what you need to do next.
The Register Your Rental Property Service is a new database required under the Renters' Rights Act, rolling out region by region from 15th December 2026. It'll cost £65 per property, per year and you'll need to provide property, ownership and tenancy details alongside a valid Gas Safety Certificate, EICR and EPC.
Failing to register can mean fines of up to £7,000, rising to £40,000 for repeat offences or false information, and courts may be unable to grant possession if a property isn't registered.
Start gathering your safety certificates and property details now, so you're ready as soon as your region's window opens.
