☀️ Hello, Summer! ☀️

School's out... and so are we! 🎉

The QE Sixth Form Office is now closed for the summer holidays after another incredibly busy and successful year.

We'll still be checking emails periodically throughout the summer break, so if you're waiting to hear from us, please bear with us as responses may take a little longer than usual.

Thank you to all of our students, parents, carers and staff for making this year such a fantastic one.

🎭 Lights, camera... London! ✨

Our Drama students have enjoyed an unforgettable couple of days in the West End, immersing themselves in some of the very best live theatre the capital has to offer.

The trip began with the incredible Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, where the immersive atmosphere and interactions with the performers made for a truly unique experience. The evening continued with the brilliantly hilarious Oh, Mary!, treating students to an outstanding piece of comedy.

On Thursday, students stepped behind the scenes with a fascinating tour of the iconic Theatre Royal Drury Lane, discovering its rich history, ghost stories and theatrical superstitions, before rounding off the trip with the award-winning musical Avenue Q.

A fantastic two days packed with inspiration, laughter and unforgettable performances. Experiences like these bring classroom learning to life and give our students a real insight into the world of professional theatre. 🎭🌟

🌟 Alumni Success Story! 🌟

We absolutely love hearing what our former students go on to achieve, and we're incredibly proud to share this fantastic news from QE Sixth Form alumna Bonnie Lowden! 🎭✨

Bonnie, now entering her third year of her BA (Hons) Acting degree at the Manchester School of Theatre, has been awarded the prestigious Laurence Olivier Bursary 2026 – a national award recognising outstanding emerging acting talent and supporting students in their final year of professional training.

Selected through a highly competitive audition process in London, Bonnie impressed an industry panel with two monologues and an interview, earning recognition for her exceptional potential as an actor.

Reflecting on her journey, Bonnie said:
"I realised in secondary school how much I loved performing. Being on stage felt natural, and it's where I come alive. I never imagined I would have opportunities like this."
It's always inspiring to see our former students pursuing their passions and achieving such incredible milestones. Bonnie's hard work, dedication and talent have taken her from the stage at QE Sixth Form to one of the UK's leading drama schools, and we can't wait to see where her journey takes her next.

🎓 Cambridge Open Days 2026 🏛️

On 9th and 10th July, students from QE Sixth Form's Aspire Programme visited the University of Cambridge Open Days.

Staying in the historic Old Courts of Gonville and Caius College gave students an authentic insight into what life is like at one of the UK's leading universities. Over the two days, they explored a number of colleges and attended a wide range of subject taster lectures, helping them gain a real feel for studying at Cambridge.

With temperatures reaching 36°C, everyone welcomed the chance to go punting on the River Cam—where even the cows took to the water to keep cool! ☀️🚣

It was a fantastic opportunity to experience university life first-hand, broaden horizons, and inspire future aspirations. A brilliant time was had by all!
