My new favourite craft is pebble art! 🐱🐈🐕🐈‍⬛

After spending a lot of time on the beaches of south Wales, we found some lovely mini stones, just right for heads and bodies of our cat and dogs. We didn't take any of the animals with us this year, so some thank you cards were in order.

Armed with my trusty USB glue gun (great for the woodland), plain and patterned card, it was easy to stick them down and create ears and tails with a thin, black pen.

I've also shared our fantastic Fire Maple mini stove. We heated up some hotdogs 🌭 to eat on the beach, as purrrffect pebble hunting is hungry work.

We went for a little evening visit to Horley Recreation ground last night.

Loving the new skatepark art work by Patti Freaks in collaboration with Town Clerk there were a variety of different ages playing, skating and hanging out. Also love the flower displays!

What not to do.... 🚯❌️ don't leave litter!
It was shocking. Plenty of bins which were not full!

I had a chat with some of the teenagers who may or may not have taken on board how yuck the litter situation is but one told me how much they'd like to have a water refill station/drink fountain. Is that possible? There was one in Priory Park? Maybe someone knows Reigate & Banstead ? I've seen these in London Parks.

The workshop is available for a suggested donation of £5.00 and will be facilitated by Anusha Merchant, a Confidence Coach and Speaker, who has kindly volunteered her time to support our charity.

Project café in Horley are doing some great specials this week for anyone looking for something to do, free parking.
They’ve got free garden games giant chessboard, ping-pong table, skittles, and more, and they are right below the Gatwick flightpath for anyone that likes to watch the planes too, free day out for anyone looking for entertaining the kids 😃

We visited a lovely craft market in Cardigan Bay, Wales and bought these fairtrade wood stamps from warp and weft

We've been having a little play to see how they'd work out on fabric to make flags in the woods. Tried a slightly watered down acrylic paint 🎨 applied with a 🧽 small sponge.

Not bad for a first attempt 🥰💚🌿🐅🦚🦤

What a lovely surprise we found in Mallard Hide Welsh Wildlife Centre The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales

We sat and slowed down as we looked out onto the marsh. My son drew the Kingfisher he saw and Clay sat poised with the binoculars, whilst I wrote a short observational verse.

Writing the Wild is a county-wide poetry treasure hunt from SPAN Arts, created in collaboration with the Narberth Poets as part of our Love Stories to Nature programme. This summer, poetry treasure boxes have been hidden in beautiful outdoor locations across Pembrokeshire, inviting families to slow down, explore nature and respond with a word, a line, or even a whole poem inspired by the landscape around them.

The project is open to everyone - children, parents, grandparents and carers alike and no previous writing experience is needed. Whether families enjoy walking, visiting the beach, exploring woodlands or discovering new places together, Writing the Wild offers a fun and creative way to connect with Pembrokeshire's incredible natural environment over the holidays.

Every contribution will be collected and woven together by the Narberth Poets into one collaborative poem celebrating our county, its people and the landscapes we share.
