🤟✨ Makaton Sign of the Week ✨

This week our Makaton sign is MORE ➕😊

We’ll be practising this sign throughout the week during snack, mealtimes, play and group activities, giving the children lots of opportunities to use it naturally throughout their day. 🐻💛

Using signs alongside spoken words helps to support children’s understanding, communication and confidence, giving them another way to express what they want and need.

You can practise MORE at home too — try using it when your child would like more food, more bubbles, more music or another turn of a favourite game! 🫧🎵

This week our story is 1, 2, 3, What Can You See in Autumn? 🍂🐿️

A lovely seasonal story encouraging the children to count, look closely and explore the changes happening around us in autumn. 🍁

We’ll be enjoying the story together throughout the week, spotting autumn colours, counting what we can see and exploring leaves, trees, woodland animals and other signs of autumn through our play and activities. 🐻🍂✨

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update following my earlier message.

The Council have now attended Furnace Green Community Centre and have confirmed to me that the water supply at the premises is fine.

Therefore, Happy Bears will be open as normal tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while I waited for confirmation. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning! 😊

📢 Important Notice 📢

Hi everyone,

I’m aware that there has been some flooding in the local area and that some areas have also been affected by issues with the water supply.

I am currently waiting for confirmation from the Council regarding the situation at Furnace Green Community Centre and whether the water supply to the building has been affected.

At the moment, we are planning to open as normal tomorrow. However, we can only safely open if the Community Centre has a functioning water supply. If there are any issues with the water tomorrow morning, unfortunately we may have to close at short notice.

As soon as I receive an update from the Council, I will let you all know straight away.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience or uncertainty this may cause, and thank you for your understanding. 💛
