We’re proud to share that Woodgate Primary Academy has achieved the Silver School Games Mark! 🥈
This award celebrates a year of commitment to PE, school sport and physical activity across our school.
A huge well done to our Year 5 & 6 Sports Leaders for helping shape activities, competitions and Sports Day through pupil voice, and to all our pupils for getting involved in events, festivals and challenges—both in school and virtually.
Thank you to our staff and families for supporting a culture where every child can take part, represent the school and enjoy being active.

Foxes had a brilliant time in our Little Lifesavers workshop, learning key CPR techniques and what to do in an emergency. Through hands-on practice and calm, step-by-step guidance, the children built confidence, teamwork and a real sense of responsibility — skills that can make a difference one day. We’re so proud of how focused and mature they were throughout the session.

Foxes wrapped up their history learning on crime and punishment through time with a brilliant visit from Sussex Police! After a fantastic Q&A in class, everyone got to peek inside a police car and hear the different sirens in action.
Thank you for helping bring our learning to life!

Location Week was packed with hands-on learning! We practised map reading using four-digit grid references, explored digital mapping with what3words (W3W), learned about counties (including West Sussex), created persuasive brochures inviting others to join us in Otters by showcasing our location, and built confidence with compass work. Ask your child to show you what they learned—future explorers in the making! 🧭🗺️

We have had a brilliant Location Week and the children have been busy exploring where we live! We practised using compass directions, learned how to find places in an atlas, and spotted the human and physical features of our local area. We also compared Pease Pottage to 100 years ago, looked closely at old and new buildings, and finished with a lovely local walk to see our learning come to life. Ask your child what they noticed most about our community! 🧭🌍

Woodpeckers have been on a geography adventure during Location Week! 🌍
We’ve been exploring different types of settlements, finding out the countries that make up the United Kingdom (and which continent the UK is in), and singing along to the Continents Song to help it all stick! 🎶
We also labelled our own continents maps and have been chatting about the UK’s ever-changing weather — sunshine one minute, rain the next! ☀️🌧️

We had an amazing Sports Day filled with sunshine, big smiles, and even bigger fun! ☀️🏅 A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the event (and the family picnic!) such a special day—we couldn’t have done it without you!
