What a wonderful morning at our local library watching the stage adaptation of The Pesky Rat with some amazing puppets 🐀 🐱 🐇 🐸 we enjoyed taking part in a workshop afterwards and performing on stage too!

We love a Woodland Wednesday, today we crafted nature wands, painted squirrels, mixed up a storm in the mudkitchen, swung in the hammocks, used the hammers & fire steels, practiced climbing and balancing, enjoyed crumpets and hot chocolate on the fire and enjoyed the freedom of exploring amongst friends within nature 🍂 🐿️ 🌷 🪵 🌲 🍁 🔥 ☕️ 🔨

The last of my big boys to leave me for school is Albie, where do I possibly begin with Albs?! Born the day before my dads birthday the first year of losing him he has been the brightest light and healed my heart in so many ways-Albie has the gentlest & kindest heart of any child I’ve met and lives for making the younger children happy, from being silly for their infectious laughs, holding their hands when they are taking their first wobbly steps, giving them cuddles and a gentle kiss on the forehead and looking out for them even when he’s busy playing his own games (he will stop to fetch a toy for them or share his even if he’s loving his turn). Albie joined the gang aged 5 months and every day has brought sunshine with his beautiful smile, warm hugs and especially with toy cars to share with his pals. Albie loves football and is still telling me World Cup trivia daily and is coming quite the footballer himself! He is a complete old soul and will fall asleep anywhere, anytime for a couple of minutes before declaring ‘I wasn’t asleep I was just resting my eyes’ (ironically a phrase I remember my dad saying often!) I will miss holding your lovely warm hands all day everyday but so thankful we get to collect you from school and hear about all your adventures (if you don’t nod off first that is!). I’m so proud of the lovely young man you are becoming and can’t wait to watch you continue to grow!###

Our local wildlife hospital were in need of hedgehog carers for their rescued hogs 🦔 so tonight we collected this little friend to join our crew and live happily ever after in our hedgehog house! I’m hoping they will feast on lots of slugs too and help protect the veggie patch!

Teddy joined the Cosy Crew two years ago and quickly became the missing piece to our Crazy, Cosy Big Boy crew we didn’t know we were missing until he arrived! Ted started as a timid and shy little guy but quickly settled in and let us see his inner crazy and hilarious sense of humour! Teddy is everyone’s friend from the boys, to the babies, the big girls to the toddlers and loves playing everyone’s different games. Recently it’s been all about the car tracks and small world play but he will happily be a customer at the hair salon, patient at the dentist, or in the hospital as a heavily pregnant mumma too 🤣 Teddy is my biggest cheerleader-not a day goes by where he doesn’t praise me for my cooking skills (who knew a crumpet could make someone’s day!), compliment my clothes (yes he likes my dodgy combos) or shares his exciting and enthusiasm about the day- ‘Catherine this was the best day ever!’ Is a weekly comment and he genuinely means it!! Teddy has grown from a toddler who wouldn’t even attempt to change his own clothes or put on his shoes to one of my most independent children-watching his genuine surprise and pride when he managed to do everything himself for the first time was heartwarming and now he encourages the younger children and will tell them ‘you can do it, I believe in you!’- So Teddy my cuddly little friend, I know you will thrive on your new journey into reception and tackle new challenges head on-because we know you can do it and we believe in YOU!###

Last weeks beach day was a hot one! The bring out meant lots of sand for great sandcastle building, moat creating and superhero play too with all our friends ☀️ 🌊 🪣 🪏 🏰

Our last beach day of the summer holidays 2026 was a breezy one which made for great waves 🌊 and kite flying 🪁 the water was still lovely and warm. The children have loved our almost weekly visits this term with our friends from other settings and so much has been learned from tidal behaviour, weather, about wildlife as well as confidence and respect growing for the ocean. Blessed to spend our days together in our beautiful natural world 🌍

Abel joined the Cosy Crew just over two years ago as a very happy baby who was constantly smiling with his cheeky smile and curious nature eager to explore and was very sociable! He’s always loved a story and many an hour we spent sharing books together before he discovered the tonie box and upgraded me! He loves the song bag and any action songs (especially DannyGo) and has the most incredible rhythm. Abel is always happy to see everyone every single day regardless of how many times he’s seen them that week! It’s hard to have a blue or grumpy moment with Abel around as his fun personality is infectious and you can’t help but laugh when you are with him!
Everyone adores him and he is always making them laugh!
Abel is a clever sausage and has a fabulous memory, he will remind me of promised made or activities we’ve planned which is super helpful too!

I will miss the cheeriest greetings every morning, and being asked with eager anticipation ‘what are we doing today Catherine’ and regardless of the plans the same high levels of exciting and enthusiasm ensues! I’m so excited for your next chapter and know it’s the best opportunity which helps a tiny bit with the sadness! Your new school are very lucky to have you! ⭐️ ❤️ 🏡
