We were thrilled to welcome fathers, loved ones, and children from Nursery to Year 2 for a very special Father’s Day breakfast. Families enjoyed a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs while coming together as a community to celebrate with their children.

Following breakfast, everyone made their way to the relevant classrooms, where the children proudly presented their loved ones with extra-special handmade gifts. It was a wonderful morning filled with smiles, celebration, and cherished memories.

Talented pupils from Reception to Year 6 took to the stage for our informal concerts, showcasing their hard work, dedication and growing confidence on a variety of instruments.

The children have made superb progress throughout the year and it was wonderful to witness their enthusiasm for music shine through in every performance.

A special highlight was the debut performance of our Pre-Prep Choir, led by Mrs Richardson. The children totally thrilled the audience with their performance! Well done to all our performers – we can't wait to see where your musical journeys take you next!

Year 5 pupils from Copthorne joined children from across the Caterham Family of Schools for EDGE in Action: From Ideas to Impact, an exciting entrepreneurship and innovation challenge hosted at Caterham School

Working in mixed-school teams, pupils tackled real-world social challenges, developing and pitching creative solutions while building confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills. It was fantastic to see young minds from across our Family of Schools coming together to share ideas, learn from one another and make a positive impact.

The event offered a glimpse into the innovative through-school opportunities available within the Caterham Family of Schools. From prep through to Sixth Form, pupils benefit from the pioneering EDGE curriculum, designed to develop the skills, mindset and adaptability needed for an AI and technology-driven future.

For those continuing their journey to Caterham School, this includes the opportunity to study the groundbreaking EDGE qualification at Key Stage 4 – developed with Nottingham University Business School and Enactus UK to equip young people with the entrepreneurial, leadership and innovation skills employers and universities increasingly value.

A brilliant day showcasing the power of collaboration and the strength of a connected educational journey.

Wonderful to see confidence grow in the art room as Year 6 take creative risks and discover new effects. They have recently completed their vibrant oil pastel pieces, showing an impressive range of colour, texture and creativity. As part of the finishing process, the children thoughtfully mounted their artwork, selecting complimentary colours and measuring carefully to ensure their artwork was centred.

They have now moved on to monoprinting using gel plates, experimenting with a variety of patterns, textures and layering techniques, creating unique and expressive prints.

Watch out! It's the glitter police! Nursery have been learning all about the important role of the police in our community. The children had so much fun creating their very own police badges using blue and gold glitter. They carefully sprinkled the glitter, demonstrating excellent fine motor skills and a brilliant pincer grip, and produced some truly sparkly masterpieces!
