On Wednesday, St Mary Star of the Sea Primary School in Hastings welcomed a visit from local MP, Helena Dollimore.

During a special assembly, Helena spoke to the children about her role as an MP and the important work she does to represent the local community. School Council members were delighted to meet

The second cohort of the Postgraduate Certificate in RE, a collaboration between our diocese and St Mary's University, London, began their studies last week.

This year, we have attracted colleagues from as far afield as North Wales and Sunderland as well as from closer to home, including the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth and Archdiocese of Southwark. We are delighted to continue to offer a pathway to train teachers of RE and to support the delivery of the RED.

The Education Service is delighted to welcome Emma Wynne-Jones to the team as our third Choral Director. She joins Billie Robson and Claire Gale in delivering the National Schools Singing Programme in diocesan schools and will work with schools in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.

Music was Emma’s first doorway into the life of the Church. Through the Schools Singing Programme, she hopes to create opportunities for children to encounter God, discover and develop their voices, and find their place within the life of the Church.

The Mark 10 Mission are inviting children across England & Wales to join their Rosary Challenge by praying a decade of the Holy Rosary each weekday in October.

The team will share a daily video for each mystery of the rosary, with Mark 10 Mission presenter Greg, joined by Fr Paschal Uche and Fr Toby Lees OP at the beautiful Rosary Shrine in London.
