We kicked off Summer Term Part 2 this week with these incredible buffalo skull paintings! 🤠🎨

Using watercolours and fine liners, our young artists created their own unique designs while exploring colour, pattern and symmetry.

I love how every artwork turned out differently, with each child adding their own creative flair to the lesson. 🌟

🎨✨ What a lovely day we had at our Craven Arms May Half Term Workshops last Tuesday!

Our young artists explored two fantastic projects inspired by famous artworks, learning new techniques with gouache, soft pastels and colouring pencils. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they developed their own unique creations and supported one another throughout the sessions.

The room was full of creativity, concentration and plenty of proud smiles as masterpieces began to take shape! 🌈🖌️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us over half term. We loved spending the day creating with you all.

🌟 Summer Term Part 2 starts this week and we can't wait to welcome our artists back for another exciting term of creativity, learning and fun!

Tuesday in Craven Arms we took inspiration from one of our lovely young artist’s birthday trip to the zoo and created these beautiful leopard paintings 🐆🎨

Using wax resist techniques alongside watercolours, the children learnt how to build texture, layer colour and create all those wonderful leopard patterns and markings. It was so lovely to see their confidence grow as the paintings started to come to life ☺️

We’re so proud of these wonderful pieces and all the concentration and care that went into them 🦢✨

🌈 Looking for some screen-free activities this half term? 🎨🦢

Our Colours of the Rainbow Workshops are now less than ONE WEEK away and we can’t wait to welcome lots of young artists across our THREE venues this May half term ✨

Children will explore exciting fine art techniques using professional artist materials, while creating artwork inspired by famous artists and wildlife. From gouache painting to soft pastels and colouring pencils, each workshop is designed to build confidence, creativity and real artistic skills in a calm, friendly environment ☺️

✨ Assistant Teacher Spotlight ✨

A huge shoutout to our wonderful assistant teacher this week… my wonderful mum, Heidi 💙

Not only is she brilliant with the children in class, but she also spent time making these amazing artist palette biscuits for a recent Cygnets member’s birthday celebration 🎨🍪

The children absolutely loved them and it made the class feel even more special ☺️ We’re very lucky to have such a thoughtful helping hand at Cygnets 🦢✨

🛶 Last week in our Craven Arms & Bridgnorth classes, our young artists created these beautiful Native American inspired clay canoe boats 🎨🦢

The children sculpted their canoes from clay before painting them with acrylics and adding their own patterns and tiny details. We absolutely loved seeing all the different ideas and personalities come through in each one ☺️

Such a lovely project full of creativity, imagination… and a little bit of mess 😅💛

What a lovely day at the Onny School Fair 🦢✨ Friends of Onny School

It was so lovely to meet so many families, see your young artists getting creative, and be part of such a brilliant community event. We absolutely loved seeing all the colourful flower bouquets, painted pots, and smiley faces throughout the day!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello and support us — we can’t wait to see some of you again at our weekly classes and workshops 💛

Come and find Cygnets Art School South Shropshire at the Onny Inflatable Fun Day on Sunday 17th May! 🦢🎨

We’ll be there running our creative Flower Market stall, where children can colour and create their own flower bouquets and vases completely free as part of this lovely community event 🌸

We’ll also have paint your own terracotta pots available, with all proceeds going directly back to the school 😊

It’s a great chance to come and meet us, find out more about our weekly term-time fine art classes and upcoming workshops across South Shropshire, and see what Cygnets is all about.
