This September, JigsawPlus parent Gail will be taking on the Vitality London 10K to raise funds for Jigsaw Trust. 🏃‍♀️

Gail and her family have experienced first-hand the difference Jigsaw has made, from her son attending Jigsaw School to now thriving at JigsawPlus. Wanting to give something back, Gail has decided to lace up her running shoes and take on this personal challenge on 27 September 2026, running 10k from The Mall to Buckingham Palace.

We are so grateful to Gail for taking on this challenge and helping to raise both funds and awareness for Jigsaw Trust.

A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers from Lloyds Bank South East Real Estate team who are spending the day at Jigsaw School. 14 volunteers have picked up paintbrushes and are helping to give several areas of the school a fresh new look, including corridors, the outside of a classroom and the PE Hall.

We are thankful for the time you have given to help improve our pupils’ learning environment and we hope you have enjoyed the experience as much as we have appreciated having you here!

A huge thank you to some incredible local organisations.

Cranleigh & District Lions Club and the Cranleigh Community Fund have kindly funded a specialist buggy for one of our pupils while Leatherhead Lions Club has also generously provided a specialist buggy for another pupil, which is making a real difference to their daily lives.

We are also so grateful to the Cranleigh and District Nursing Association for funding a specialist car harness to support safe travel.

Your generosity means so much and is captured perfectly in the thank you card created by one of the pupils who benefited. Thank you!

We are delighted to share that Jigsaw School has been awarded a Gold Award in this year’s Guildford in Bloom Schools Competition making this our fifth successive Gold Award!

This year’s theme, ‘Food for Nature ... Food for Me’, inspired our pupils to create a vibrant garden filled with vegetables, herbs, flowers and wildlife-friendly planting during their GARDENworks sessions.

Guildford in Bloom praised the outstanding standard of entries this year, with 17 schools taking part and embracing the theme in creative ways.

A huge congratulations to our pupils and Horticulture Tutor, Kay Baines, whose hard work and creativity made this achievement possible.

Guildford in Bloom encourages residents, community groups and businesses to make Guildford a greener, more environmentally friendly place while promoting good gardening practices and creating habitats for wildlife.

A huge thank you to CafĂŠ on the Park for providing the delicious catering for our Annual Research Conference last week!

From fresh sandwiches to tempting sweet treats, the food was enjoyed by staff throughout the day and helped keep everyone fuelled for the conference.

Café on the Park is one of Jigsaw Trust’s social enterprises, which not only serves great food but also provides valuable training for our learners.

Last week, Jigsaw hosted its 13th Annual Research Conference, bringing staff together to share research, innovation and best practice from across the School.

We were proud to celebrate the publication of a special edition of the Tizard Learning Disability Review, marking 25 years of Jigsaw Trust, with five articles authored by Jigsaw staff. Their work reflects our commitment to contributing to the wider field of education and learning disabilities.

A huge thank you to our Rapid Data Presenters for sharing their research projects and case studies, which helped spark meaningful discussion and learning across the organisation.

We were also delighted to welcome Dr Nic Hooper, who delivered an engaging workshop on psychological flexibility, providing practical strategies to support staff wellbeing and professional practice.

Research and continuous learning are central to ensuring the learners we support benefit from the very best evidence-informed practice.

Staff came together to enjoy delicious fresh pizzas and live music as we marked the end of another busy and successful year.

As another school year comes to a close, we would like to thank all of our pupils, families and staff for their support, commitment and achievements throughout the year.
