🎨🗿 BURNSIDE SCULPTURE DAY! 🗿🎨

On Friday, our whole school rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a brilliant Sculpture Day!

The entire day was organized by our very own fantastic Burnside Art Ambassadors. Each year group tackled their own unique sculpting challenge, giving our pupils the perfect opportunity to develop their Art and Design skills in line with the curriculum.

From molding mystical dragon’s eyes to intricate soap carving, our children loved exploring, experimenting, and showcasing their incredible creativity.

☀️ What a wonderful evening! 🧺🍓

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our school Summer Picnic yesterday. The weather was beautiful, the field was buzzing and it was so lovely to see our school community coming together to celebrate the end of another fantastic year.

We hope you all enjoyed the sunshine and games as well as seeing all the fantastic face painting designs! A special shout-out to our incredible staff who made the event possible.

⚽️ 🌟 Fantastic Footballers! 🌟 ⚽️

A huge congratulations to our incredible Year 5/6 girls' football team, who put on an amazing performance at the tournament at Northburn yesterday!

The girls showed brilliant teamwork and determination throughout the entire competition, playing their hearts out and finishing in a superb 4th place! 🏆👏

We are incredibly proud of how well they represented Burnside. Give yourselves a huge pat on the back, girls - you were absolute superstars! 🌟🔴⚫️

🌈 ✨ Celebrating Pride Day at Burnside! ✨ 🌈

Last week, our school was full of colour, smiles and kindness as we celebrated Pride Day!

It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about acceptance and the importance of celebrating what makes every single one of us unique. From colourful crafts and stories to creative activities, our pupils showed us once again just how inclusive and supportive our school community is.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Burnside Primary School has successfully renewed our FairAchiever Fairtrade Award—the highest level of the Fairtrade Schools Award! 🏆🌱

The judges praised our school's commitment to sustainability and gave a special shout-out to our amazing children, stating:

Huge congratulations to three of our wonderful staff members on their amazing achievements! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Mrs McLeod and Miss Patterson for achieving their Level 4 HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) qualification!

We also want to say a massive well done to Miss Kennedy for gaining her Level 3 in Support in Teaching and Learning!

The NED Shows Rocked our School Yesterday!

We had an amazing visit from NED’s Resilience Ride! Through a high-energy performance (and some incredible yo-yo tricks), our students learned the power of NED:

🌻 WE HELPED GROW 6,000 SUNFLOWERS! 🌻

We are so proud to share that our school contributed to the incredible 6,000 sunflowers planted by SUEZ and local community groups.

You can see our students' hard work on display at SUEZ’s upcoming Family Fun Day. Come along for a fantastic day out and help raise money for an amazing charity!
