Job Summary:
The Mall Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of Rushmere Shopping Centre, while also providing excellent customer service. This role requires a vigilant and proactive individual who can effectively manage security duties, assist customers, and maintain a visible presence throughout the mall.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers with inquiries, directions, and general information about the shopping centre.
- Deliver exceptional service to enhance the overall shopping experience.
- Handle customer complaints, concerns, and feedback professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the shopping centre’s stores, promotions, and events.
Mall Security:
- Patrol the shopping centre, stores and car park to ensure a safe and secure environment for customers, staff, and tenants.
- Monitor and operate CCTV systems.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
- Enforce the shopping centre’s rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure the safety of all visitors.
General Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, security breaches, and customer interactions.
- Work closely with other departments, including maintenance and housekeeping, to address safety, security, and cleanliness issues.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on security protocols and customer service best practices.
- Assist in the implementation of emergency evacuation procedures when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
Desired Criteria:
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Badge.
- CCTV License.
- Proven experience in a security or customer service role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Basic computer skills for CCTV monitoring and incident reporting.
- Previous experience in a shopping centre or retail environment.
- First Aid Certification.
Full training provided where required.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility in working hours is required, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- The role involves standing and walking for extended periods.
