𧑠PWS Awareness Day π§‘
Today we were incredibly proud of one of our pupils for helping to raise awareness of Prader-Willi Syndrome. This cause holds a very special place in his heart, and he showed great courage and confidence as he spoke to his own class, our Vice Principal, and many pupils and staff throughout the day.
PWS Awareness Day is recognised globally each year on 15 May, symbolising the 15th chromosome linked to the genetic condition, with May also recognised as PWS Awareness Month.
As a school community, we were proud to support awareness, and our wonderful pupil helped teach us about the significance of wearing orange, while encouraging greater understanding, inclusion and kindness. π§‘
π Thank you for sharing your story and helping others learn more about PWS. We are very proud of you! π

πβ¨ Thursday Thunk! β¨π
Today in our Thursday Thunk, Primary 1 explored the question:
π βCan you be friends with someone who is very different to you?β π
We had lots of wonderful ideas and thoughtful discussions in class as the children shared their own opinions, listened carefully to others and reflected on the importance of friendship, kindness and inclusion. π
To finish our learning, we enjoyed the story βWe Are All Differentβ, which helped us celebrate how unique and special everyone is. π
π Well done, Primary 1, for your fantastic thinking and brilliant discussions today! πβ¨
