Yesterday, P1 and P2 went to Belfast Zoo. They had a wonderful time checking out the animals in the glorious sunshine.

Northern Ireland 5 a-side finals

On Tuesday, our 5 a-side football team entered the NI finals, held at South Lakes Leisure Centre.

3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, made for an excellent performance from the boys in red and green.

They have done the school proud, representing us at this level and playing in a good spirit.

Well done to Maralin Primary, who won the competition.

We might take this opportunity to also thank all those P7s who have played for any of our school teams, and to encourage them to continue their sporting careers in secondary school.

How wonderful to see the progress of our garden!

Our lettuce is now ready to eat and we need good homes! If any family would like to make a small donation, their child can pick and bring home one of the lettuces from our garden. The money will go towards purchasing new seeds and plants for the vegetable garden.

Green Flag status renewed! A big thanks to the Eco Council, led by Miss Shanks and Miss McMurray, for all the work out into the application.

A beautiful day for the Brownlow Cup- an annual tournament for P6 and younger- held at our own 3G pitch.

The Drumgor team were great, putting in some superb performances.

Results:

1-1 vs Maralin
1-1 vs King’s Park
0-2 vs Waringstown (Quarter Final, so knocked out).

It is wonderful to see our garden looking so well. Aren’t our green-fingered pupils doing a great job? They are really enjoying looking after it.

Today pupils enjoyed the magnificent story-telling, music and dramatic performance of the Armagh Rhymers!

29 children received Bibles after their visit to Craigavon Baptist for The Amazing Journey. Thank you to the church and to the organisers of the programme.

Coronation Picnic

Some photos from our Coronation celebrations today.

Last night, some of our P7s were confirmed in St Anthony’s Church. A wonderful evening for them and their families, and they represented our school exceptionally well. Many congratulations to everyone.

As we approach the Coronation, classes have been busy with some themed activities. For example, P1/2 have been considering, “If I were the King,” and they got appropriately attired for the occasion!

In two days’ time, parents/guardians will receive the outcome of their Pre-School (Stage 1) and Primary 1 applications for September 2023.

Applicants who applied online via EA Connect will receive an email on Thursday 27 April 2023. If you do not receive an email, please check your junk folder. If you applied using a paper application, you will receive information on your child’s pre-school or primary school place by a letter sent to your home address.

Please note, applicants of underage children and late deferrals will receive their outcome on 13 June 2023.

Tullygally Cup

Today our girls’ football team took part in the first ever Tullygally Cup.

They came second in their group with one win, one defeat and three draws.

They then drew their third place playoff with Carrick, and so shared the bronze place.

£104 was also raised at the tuck shop for charity Bluebell Trust, which works closely with all of the involved schools.

This morning, our School and Eco Council really enjoyed meeting the Lord Mayor and finding out about our local council.

Drumgor Win Spring Festival Plate.

We are delighted for our football team who, having come 3rd in their group (putting them into the second-tier of the competition for the Plate), went on to win their three knockout matches (1-0, 1-0 and 4-0 in the final!); taking ‘home’ the Plate. Great perseverance and character from the whole team throughout. A super day, despite the rain. Well done!

This morning we really enjoyed getting back into the school garden to plant our summer vegetables.

We have registered for this!

Colin from Action Mental Health visited school on Thursday to collect a cheque for the money raised during our ‘wear yellow to school’ day.

Speech Festival Success

Following our P6 boy’s mighty achievement last Friday, further silverware was gained from three P7 girls at the Portadown Speech Festival on Monday. Two of them came joint second and another got a certificate of commendation.

A tremendous feat from them all, and we hope to enter into more categories next year.

This morning, this P6 boy performed in his first Portadown Speech Festival, and came back with a beautiful Bronze Medal (third place)!

A brilliant job reciting and performing ‘Dear Mum’ by Brian Patten. 👏

Keys Appeal
A customer in Boots Chemist, Lurgan on Wednesday 25 January, around 2.30pm may have accidentally scooped up a bunch of keys with her shopping. The woman was with 2 small children who appeared to be in Drumgor PS uniform. If you were in Boots, Lurgan around that time could I ask you to check your bag(s) for keys. If you do find them please drop them into the Boots store in Lurgan or leave them in the School Office. Thank you.

SCHOOL MEALS - TUESDAY 17 JANUARY 2023
Due to maintenance issues in the school kitchen no hot meals can be provided tomorrow. Sandwiches will instead be made available. We apologise for this inconvenience which is outside the control of both the school and the School Meals Service. We will keep you informed of any further updates tomorrow.
