It was great to meet up again with Shane McCormac and the students at Lismore College Craigavon last week, as they were presented with their Certificates on completion of the Bloom Programme through MindWise. The programme covered topics including dealing with social pressure, managing studies and juggling time in developing life long learning skills. Well done all involved!! 👏👏

Lismore’s Mental Health and Wellbeing coaches awarded certificates.

Today we were delighted to welcome back, Training Associate, Mr Pat McGibbon to award our Year 13 students with certificates for having successfully completed the Mental Health and Well-being Course.

The programme is part of Lismore’s Curriculum Enrichment programme which lasts for 1 full academic year. The students follow an accredited programme through MindWise who deliver Bloom in Northern Ireland on behalf of Mental Health UK.

One of the challenges of the course is to work together to create and deliver a bespoke Mental Health workshop to our younger students. This cascading approach is quite unique to Lismore College.

Our year 9 students learnt about making healthy choices ; how to develop resilience; how to be ahead of coping with the inevitability of tough times in life. Our year 13 students shared with them, extensive research around the science of stress, uncovering evidence based strategies to navigate life’s challenges with the necessary knowledge, skills, confidence and a sense of empowerment.

Well done to all our Year 13 Mental Health coaches. We have no doubt the course will empower and enrich your life and that of others.
